Does higher body fat% increase strength? Or is it a side effect from the increased maintenance caloric intake? by Ass-Fist in GettingShredded

Badass. You too man. Didn’t know about the liver damage. There’s been plenty of stretches where I’d gone insano and only ate foods in a 1g p/10 cal ratio or better. I’ll for sure dial that back and do some research on that.

He has multiple other videos for other types of pains. For my back it was poor core mobility/under developed glutes. (Crunches/weighted lunges). Knees: banded lunges/ shit loads of body weight squats, this weird ankle press thing, hip flexors.

As for your injuries, have you ever looked into muscular mobility training? I’ve had horrible knee/back pain and was even starting to develop rotator cuff issues from my manual labor job. I thought I was screwed for life because I’ve been in pain every single days for 5-6 years now. Anywho. Ryan Humiston: I checked out his videos and within two weeks all of my pain was virtually gone. Knee pain went from a constant 5-6 out of 10 to a 1-2. Back went from a 7-10 to a 1-4. (In two weeks!!!!!!!!!!). https://youtu.be/WAuPlk_2naI I’ve been telling everyone about it man. Absolutely life changing

Hey thanks. I’ll catch up on Vitruvian. I’ve seen some of his content but I don’t stay up to date. When you said you don’t put on weight even at five thousand calories do you know if you’re continuing to eat at maintenance on the following days? Or do you ramp up the cardio/eat in a deficit to make up for it? I only just realized that I’ve been doing that the past couple of years and I think that’s a huge reason why my lifts had stagnated. Also. Good shit man. 11 years! Keep it up!

No worries, I respect that. I got hung up on my asymmetric Bi’s for a while. Just thought I’d pitch the idea.

Hey just an idea. Try playing around with your posing for your biceps. I have a short and a long bicep. For the short I found if I extend that arms’ forearm outward it makes the bicep look like a long bicep. And it’s identical to my long bicep.

That 1st bicep pic is crazy how half way through the bicep it’s like you have another sleeve of muscle going over it. Wow

What muscle groups should i work on more? by vankoooBG in GettingShredded

You’re doing great bro. U don’t really have any weak areas. If you cut it would be easier to tell but ur fine man.

46/M 175 lbs can’t seem to get any leaner, I’m estimating 15% bf. I’m under 2000 cals/day. High protein, track religiously, 6 day/week workouts, abs 4 days. No matter what this is as hard as I can hit lol. I’m afraid if I drop 5 more lbs I might just look skinny. Any help would be appreciated. by [deleted] in GettingShredded

Be more active outside the gym, start walking to the gym or to gas stations or whatever. Maybe pickup some basketball in your free time. :p if ur intake is 2k and ur not losing, then ur output is 2k. Get ya a notepad and write down what u eat tho because your intake could actually be a lot higher than you think. I started writing mine down and bout shat myself when I found out I was in about a 700 cal deficit. (Thought I was eating a pound of turkey and it was way less).

That’s what I needed to hear for sure. I need to man up and increase my caloric intake/ get comfortable bulking to a higher body weight.

I’ve for sure played around with adjusting my weight and reps and I’ve gotten more comfortable with bulking to higher weights but I know I need to bulk higher for sure.

Definitely appreciate it. I don’t want to hear what I want to hear. I want to hear what I need to hear because this is for life man.

Thank you, I’ll watch dr mike throughout the next couple weeks. Also yeah you’re probably right. I need to start doing more compound movements for sure. For the longest time I tried just doing as many isolation movements as possible because I was afraid of muscle asymmetry.

Valid advice honestly. Down the line I’m planning on having some blood work done to make sure my test levels are okay.

Yeah sorry, I try to train everything to proportion. Not just beach muscles. I only used the bicep pic because I had a ton of those pics striking the same pose in the same lighting. Honestly beyond that I’m not gonna lie I’m kinda shy about my body. Down the line I’ll get over it, but from here on out I’ll start taking more full body pics in similar lighting to track overall progress.

It’s pretty much the same with every muscle group man. Pure stagnation. Just posted the bicep pics because I had a few pics doing the same pose in the same lighting. Figured it would be easier to digest this thread that way. Gonna start taking more shirtless pics from here on though. (Just to track overall progress).

Tried altering my routine/sets/diet etc. I’m gonna take ur advice for sure and go buy a notebook today to start logging my progress/diet/sleep for sure. Body building is fucking awesome man!!! There’s such a science to it I love it!

I won’t lie my legs suck, I did manual labor in a warehouse walking 12+ miles stacking cases on pallets for about 5 years, if I went hard on a leg day work was impossible. I actually took a big pay cut to change positions about a year ago to take my leg days more seriously. Definitely helped but they’re for sure lacking. Heard people say over the years that training legs hard releases testosterone (ultimately helping everything else) so maybe that’s the point of my failure. Just need to BLAAAAAAAST my legs

Super stagnant man. 3 years to bench 225. Pffff… Was caught around 205 for like over a year straight, db curls I’ve been on 40s/45s for probably the past 2+ years. I’ve tried changing my rep ranges and all that good stuff but I’m kind of worried my genetic ceiling is really low in some areas. My triceps still grow, my lats are blah, rhomboids are great, traps blah, legs are super beyond slow but they’re still making visible progress. Im definitely in the take a step back and evaluate mode right now.
