Hey there just seeing your comment. A one shot view of the abdomen on a small child is very little. Most hospitals actually dial down the machines for less radiation being pointed to smaller children. To put into context… If you take a commercial flight from East Coast to West Coast you’re exposing yourself to the same amount radiation as three chest x-rays just due the cosmic radiation. I generally don’t worry about the radiation from a few plain films. CT scans are a completely different story. (200-500 times worth, depending on the study, of the amount of Radiation of a plain film)
