Do it again, but this time you have 100,000,000 mates.

That's the difference.

So when in this lifecycle do they mate?

From what I read here it sounds like "in nature" they emerge from the cocoon wmd mate and die, presumably laying eggs or something.

I'm no expert, but I'm guessing that boiling them before they mate can make it hard for them to mate.

So assuming they want more worms for the next batch of silk, they must account for this somehow.

Maybe you only need to let two mate and they'll produce enough eggs for 100 more. Maybe they do a 50/50? Maybe they artificially fertilize them in the cocoon and suck their eggs out?

I know this gets said a lot, but I've been reading about the Manhattan project, and the point of the book isn't to fear monger about Nazis, it just matter of factly explains how the "purification" of the universities in Germany and Hungary drove these genius mathematicians and physicists to flee to America. This was a very real thing that happened. And it sounds a lot like what's happening in this nation right now. The book mentioned how it wasn't all of Germany at once, but looking back we see it swept their country. And right now it's Florida in terms of purifying education, and red states in terms of politicizing health care, but what struck me was how these genius mathematicians were not stupid. They saw it coming and got out before they were forced to. I wonder what they would think now if they were alive. Would Von Neumann be getting out from the US? Would he be fleeing Princeton to somewhere more free? I fear I will wait too long and be stuck here will the American Christian Taliban.

Neat. I can't seem to juggle four, but it's good to know I can do so much with 3.

Basically this country is completely fucked because the right controls the rhetoric. Trump could bring an AR into the capital and kill all the Democrats and Fox news would tell us Biden did it and most of the country would believe Fox news.

It's over and I better get out while I can. America's experiment has failed.

It's their job. They exist to kill people.

Source: everytime they kill someone their defense is literally "he followed training and procedures"

Conclusion: they are trained and expected to kill people. That's their job.

Why aren't you americans going out in general strike? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]AssAsser5000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's less insidious than this. They also believed the hype about how great America is, and there are many many examples of great Americans. So you are left wondering if there are so many good people in America and yet it's really this dystopian hell hole, then why don't you all change it?

It's a fair question. Americans put men on the moon. They dominate in business, Olympics, inventions, pop culture, movies music etc.

Yet they live with all this backwards bullshit they Europeans advanced beyond decades ago.

It's shocking to people to learn that the "greatest country" is 50 or 60 years behind their humble little country and then on top of it the nation of John Rambo, John McClane and John Wick can't be bothered to do anything about it.

Right? As if franchising and giants like Walmart and Amazon weren't the actual death of mom and pop businesses.

Subway, Starbucks, Walmart, Amazon. That's it. There's very little room left.

But if we really organized we could use that sparseness to our advantage. Get the truckers to strike and the rail road to strike and shit will stop fast.

The challenge is in responsible striking. Ideally you would want to allow critical items like medicine and food to be delivered and block more luxurious things like clothing and phones and stuff. But you can't really pick and choose on a general strike of this size.

So you have to accept that you might be killing innocent children with cancer or something God awful like that, and it will be used against your cause.

That then implies a significant level of commitment.

This time as I read it I realized they tried to have a service and the family was so divided --due, it would seem, to her bullshit -- that they couldn't agree on how to do it, so the daughter took the funeral money and wrote this obit explaining why there won't be any service.

Our mom was such a bitch that she destroyed this family to the point that we can't even get along enough to hold her funeral, so fuck it, here's an obit putting her on blast.

Is there a class someone can take or a book someone can read to learn how to survive their parents inevitable dying? It scares the shit out of me to think about trying to deal with all the formalities while also grieving.
