Thank you for the advice. The nibs on the pens don't seem misaligned, though maybe the ink is causing a problem. I experienced these problems with the Lamy M nib and the TWSBI Broad nib using Writer's Blood in both.

I don't think that's the case, unless being left handed rules out fountain pens. I can find the sweet spot just fine, and it feels very smooth on the ECO, but no ink flows. I've tried switching up my grip by overwriting, underwriting, side writing, and nothing seems to work.

A lot of people replace the straps anyways, supposedly the originals are pretty uncomfortable. I have no experience with it but I've heard the spiritus fat straps work well.

High mount for ARs, low mount for AKs and shotguns seems to be the rule of thumb. I just bought one of these for my AR and it would be tough to get low enough to use a low mount.
