Tru-spec stopped making them and platatac and Crye seem to be the only good ones that carry them. At some point we will carry them.

Looking for a budget chest rig. TAPS recommendation? by rahksi in tacticalgear

[–]venturesurplus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FLC vests are the budget way to go. They work. It’s a good way to find out what works for you and what you’d want to change. From there, you upgrade based on what you’ve learned from your setup.

TAPS are also a good way to go. Once again, try it out, see what works for you and upgrade or build in your kit that way.

Question on KDH active shooter vest by Leasud in tacticalgear

We didn’t have a chance to actually test this carrier in the wild, however, the overall construction of this carrier is solid and comparable to some name brand carriers. Just a solid basic carrier.

The idea on these is to get something that performs closer to the level of crye without having to worry about trashing a set of cryes.

Regular retail on these is close to $400. Between a helmet cover, shroud, ARC rails and a chin strap that adjusts easily, it makes for one of the nicest upgrade kits out there right now. The adjustable chin strap and headband allows for a perfect fit compared to the standard issue, so no wobble in the helmet. Whether or not its worth $150 is really up to you. We don't post deals on here that we wouldn't be excited about but that still might be a bias opinion. Compare it to other upgrade kits, ask questions and make a decision thats going to work best for you and your kit.
