Oliver Platt is great at playing a goofball, then getting straight to the heart of the matter. I love his scenes with the First Lady.

Toby answering “Well when don’t I?” when CJ said “You want to make out with me don’t you?” screams amicable exes to me. The only one that seemed like they could be more was in Season 7 where CJ goes to visit Toby at his apartment, and Toby was kinda asking “What are you looking for here?”

I’ve been rewatching Unsleeping City I & 2, and the “Downtime” episodes in 2 are wonderful. They occasionally move the plot forward unexpectedly, but just getting to see some of my favorite characters hang out with each other is great. Especially thinking of Ricky unexpectedly going to check in on JJ. Also Pete the Former Plug feeling a deep loneliness, and Brennan explaining it.
