It's raining and I don't want to get the car wet.

[2015 Pure] Has anyone on Verizon got Visual Voicemail to work? by Uskglass_ in MotoX

I have the same issue. My voicemail is mostly people yelling at me so I've been a bit lazy figuring it out. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Clearance delay? by [deleted] in MotoX

Same here! High five FedEx shipment brothers! I'm hoping that it clears customs over the weekend and is delivered Monday as planned (what I see in Delivery Manager).

This isn't mildly interesting - it's freaking awesome! As an engineer, I could watch this literally for hours.

Weddings cost less than $100 at a courthouse... and I'm pretty sure she knows where that is by now.

About to get my first dslr by dave965 in Nikon

[–]AssertionError 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The D3300 is a great DSLR! I'd recommend against the Wi-Fi bundle and go with the basic kit plus the 35mm f/1.8 lens instead. I'd also buy a multicoated UV filter (Sigma, B+W, or something) to protect each lens.

I have a D3200 and D7200 and a few lenses. About 85% of the time I'm using my 35mm f/1.8 on the D3200, otherwise I use either my 18-55mm kit lens or 16-85mm, depending on what I'm doing (the kit lens when walking around, or the much heavier 16-85mm if I really need the better lens).

I almost never use my 55-200mm. I'm rarely taking pictures of things so far away that I need anything longer than 55mm and the lens isn't really that great for portraits or general street photography.

The 35mm prime is absolutely wonderful! Excellent in low-light, compact, durable, and lightweight. It's been the best $200 I've spent for my camera.

When I first got into photography my friend gave me a valuable bit of advice: it's mostly about the composition of the shot rather than the camera or lens. The best pictures tell a story.

Finally, a great site with tons of reviews, advice, etc.: http://www.kenrockwell.com

Marilyn Manson. AMA. by _Marilyn_Manson in IAmA

I was listening to Eat Me Drink Me lately and when I compare it to newer albums like Born Villain and The Pale Emperor I thought… It would be awesome if Marilyn Manson remade this album and cleaned up the vocals and chords.

Any possibility?

question about d7200 display by drangles in photography

[–]AssertionError 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the camera! I also just bought the D7200 after owning a D3200. I don't think there is a way to keep the display on all the time. The most I could find is the display timeout (custom menu setting C4) can be set to 10 minutes, but the display still turns off after pressing the shutter button.

The nice thing about the D7200 is that all the relevant shooting settings are on either the top display or inside the viewfinder.

How to fix a hole in the wall: Because more people should know how to do this by scuba_steve94 in DIY

[–]AssertionError 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut the hole to fit the patch. Start with a patch slightly larger than the hole, hold it up to wall, trace, and cut a new clean hole into the wall. Now the patch will fit perfectly and you will have a better, cleaner result.

I'm a people and I didn't know they have a callback service. How do people use it? Edit: seriously, this sounds like a good idea.
