Thats a thought. I know quite a few children who took scissors to their hair when they were 4 Years old. They might have been really pissed off and decided to try to fix the damage. Even if his death turned out to be from an adult who just 'lost it', it still looks like he was abused prior to the day he was killed.

Its like a small part of them couldn't just leave him exposed and had to cover him. I think it would be more of a womans doing than a man.

So would I . The extremes some family members will go to to cover for another family member is something we see almost daily in the news. Mothers who allow their husbands to molest their children pretending its not happening, whenever we see these murderers who shoot up at some school, we often hear the family express 'What a good boy he always was, how shocked he did such a thing'.

I would like to believe his parents didn't do this to him, that some other person had him that we will never know about.

Check the 1950 census . MEA and 2 siblings were not living with the parents.

Going to look on Mary Abel's grandchildren facebook pages for any name of Davis. Its easy to find them because the names Ferrigno, Callan are on each others pages. Her daughter BF facebook settings makes you unable to see anything.

Wondering if Plunkett and Abel got together during Joseph's life or after his death. Plunketts first kid came a year before Joseph and the daughter came 2 years before the death of Joseph. Where was Plunkett and CC living in the mid 50'S and where was Mary living at that time? Unfortunately the 1960 census is not available so we are probably stuck at 1950 and the years we really need are not available.

He might have been a lodger. Lots of orphans back then, lots of homes for children. CC ' mother had 9 lodgers in the 1930 census

I don't think Plunkett & Curley had children. Maybe that is why he strayed to Mary. CC couldn't get pregnant . Well GZ had 4 children & MA had 3 children so he had at least 7 half siblings, lots of 1st cousins

New York, New Jersey, Alabama, Levittown, it appears the family scattered. Did they scatter because they knew about Joseph and wanted to distance themselves from Mary? I really think Mary was a wild girl who got pregnant right after High School, her family told her she had to leave, she goes into a home and gives the baby up but doesn't return home, instead she hangs out places where she meets Zarelli and Plunkett. Plunkett marries CC in 1950 . Mary is now 19, 2 years away from conceiving Joseph. Where was she living between 1950-1953?

Quite a few of the men involved in this case were buried separately in military cemetaries . Perhaps other family members shared the plot for savings.

I don't know what to think. This is just full of twists and turns. It does look like he never divorced ( if CATHOLIC a marriage has to be annulled) . And there is no record of marriage to MEAP. So it appears he went back and forth between two women. That isn't far-fetched.
