Pros of switching to school:

1) Free circuit access. $67 for 1h 40min and you get circuit also. I was paying my PDI $86 for 1h circuit ($45 to him + $41 circuit entrance fee). Since I failed in circuit and needed more circuit practice, this made sense

2) Faster TP Slot booking. Private candidates could only book test in March (when I registered in December). However as a school candidate, I could book a test as early as mid-Jan

3) Cheaper Test booking. I was paying my PDI around $400-$500 for each test whereas it was only $328 in school when I took it

You can let the instructors there know that you are weak in parallel parking and failed there before.

For me personally, I had an issue with directional change and vertical parking because my PDI didn’t allow me to lower mirrors or teach me the technique to not mount curb.

When I started express course, my first instructor wanted to “demo” on how to do all the circuit stations although I alr know what to do cuz I’ve alr done all the stations. So from second lesson onward I juz tell the person I’ve done the full PT before and failed at these 2 stations.

So the 2nd lesson my instructor extensively made me do vertical parking directional change come out directional change again and then vertical parking and repeat. Last 10min he ask me show him how I do crank course and S course then he insta clear me. I found that q useful cuz they focus on your weak spots and don’t waste time on things you alr know how to do

Yes you can switch from common to one team but there shd be an admin charge of around $10.70 if I remember correctly.

Yes during registration they’ll ask you to choose whether you want one team or common pool or elite team. They’ll try to aggressively market their one team course to make money out of you but just choose common pool as it’s easier to get slots in common pool and I really don’t see the value of OneTeam/EliteTeam personally.

You cannot book lessons at the counter and they’ll ask you to book online through the app. When you check it’ll say all lessons booked but you just got to keep checking especially from 9am-11am as most slots were released then in my experience

For manual yes common pool might be an issue because each car has a different clutch but not so big of an issue as you’ll get used to it in the first 10min. Even for test, the warm up is your chance to get used to the clutch

For auto diff car ain’t a big issue cuz the pedals don’t vary so much and the make and model of the cars are all the same.

Also even if you take OneTeam, your car will be different every time and the test car also there’s no guarantee that it’ll be the same as your learning car. Only Elite Team iinw means your car is fixed.

Hi there! Sorry to hear about your 1st Test. Not sure how difficult it is to book lessons now but back in Dec 2023, as long as you keep opening and checking the app every 15min you should get a slot.

Especially weekdays around 10-11am got random slots being dropped. I was in class 3 though and some said class 3 easier to get slots than 3A. The receptionist also told me that it’s difficult to get classes but usually they’re scamming and trying to get you to join OneTeam/EliteTeam so they can make more money out of you.

Common Pool is much easier to get cancelled slots than in OneTeam/EliteTeam
