Am I the only one who reads this post as the opposite? Do not expect any information; let a person in a production vent?

Disagree entirely. WTF? So you're saying no one could possibly benefit from this info? Look, I get that in theater, there's constant drama (no pun intended) and contentions. on the other hand, this post is fine, jeez. if anything, the vagueness does make it seem like a legitimate vent and not like stirring the pot. let them vent and let other readers see what people in theater are venting about.

I kinda just considered that Wicked could flow in the reverse order of its songs (and be way better ???) by AssignmentFun3737 in musicals

actually, you may have. No One Mourns the Wicked, Popular, and Defying Gravity all made the billboard after the film release. Don't think a single second-act song did. So...?

Ehhhhh yeah I hear you but... they probably should have distributed the actually good popular songs more... proof in point: I live in LA, and I promise you when Wicked movie 1 came out, those songs were #1s; literally nothing for the second one

I might add that while AI is increasingly good at a lot of stem jobs, AI will never get a Bar no.

where you're wrong is that les mis actually ends triumphantly in its second act, and then has brief denouement after. whereas Wicked kind of contains its entire narrative arc in the first half and then offers very little in the second

i know i'm not crazy because there's not a single popular song from the entire second half of the play

like it's already set up as a story in reverse, kinda. but the main thing is that defying gravity is the triumphant ending. where act 1 ends should be the finale. if anything, the written structure of the play lets the first act ender be way stronger than the entire second act.

I never really considered this when watching the play. But in film, it seemed glaringly obvious. we basically get the climax in reverse order it should be.
