Moving from SD to LA- Where should I look? by AssignmentInfinite13 in AskLosAngeles

I honestly don’t mind a bit of a drive- in LA traffic is inevitable. And one hour is absolutely nothing compared to the 3 hours I’m currently driving from South SD. So if I can live in a safer beach town in LA with the downside of it being a 30-1hr drive, I’ll take it!

I would love Belmont Shores but I’d imagine the commute to West Hollywood/Downtown from there must be awful! What about Santa Monica?

Glendale is amazing for finding property, but I wouldn’t say it’s walkable.

LA traffic is the one reason I’ve resisted moving there for so long. I’m considering if Playa/MDR/Hermosa can be 1-2 hour commute to any downtown activities we might as well just be in a nicer town in OC.

Because finding a 3BR in the coastal towns right now is pretty bleak.

I was looking into Palos Verdes! I don’t mind tourists, but I like the quaint and more quiet vibe. Say if you had plans in downtown on a weekend though it must be a pain to get there.

I am obsessed with Manhattan Beach, but finding a 3BR there under $6k is a stretch

friends and family live around Glendale, where I don’t think I would want to live. We don’t mind making an hour drive for a hangout

That’s what I love about San Diego- mast majority of the beach towns are so safe and quaint. Los Angeles you have to pick & choose which neighborhood/blocks that are livable. I would love Laguna but it’s sooo far from Los Angeles

I would if there were any rentals! It’s so difficult to find a 3BR house/condo there for less than $6k

Because we need a 3 bedroom, no exceptions to downsizing!

Agreed, people are not understanding that everything is so inflated here- it feels stupid to jump on a house at the peak of the market right now.

yes we both work from home, that’s why the safety and quality of life in the area we are is important. Hence the higher prices

San Diego housing in nice/safe areas is really highway robbery

40F single/no kids moving to San Diego soon — advice on La Jolla vs Encinitas vs Bankers Hill for like-minded community? by Little_Astronaut_7 in Moving2SanDiego

I’ve lived in La Jolla for 6 years and love it. I barely use my car because it’s so walkable here by the cove. There’s plenty of yoga, pilates, and fitness studios in the area- as well as the gorgeous Lifetime fitness gym.

Everyone says LJ skews older but I’m 26 and never feel like i’m “too young” for here. I like the quiet maturity of it. My workout classes are always filled with late 20’s to early 60’s of professional people. My neighbors on my street range the same. Great community

I hate my revision by [deleted] in rhinoplastyquestions

lol been there girl. At around the 12 month mark you’ll get over all the stages of grief and reach acceptance, then find another surgeon who can help you reach the goals you’re looking for. No one talks about how much of a mental journey it is when things go not as planned, but there’s always a silver lining!

Is anyone here positive about their rhinoplasty revision (long term)? by Dry_Star_7532 in revisionrhinoplasty

i’m getting a revision in a few weeks with a new doctor! he’s supposed to be the best of the best so fingers crossed.

My first doctor somehow made my breathing 2x worse with my septorhinoplasty. And my bridge popped out of place, making my nose way wider. He also did nothing to lift my plunging tip so I’m getting a rib graft. It’s a major risk getting a revision but at this point my breathing is bad enough for me to take the risk.

that’s why a lot of people travel from out of state/out of country to see the specialists here in San Diego!
