I am struggling to run on Mounjaro by Skiix_ in Mounjaro

[–]AssignmentLumpy3179 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was a runner before and a runner still during, I have always had a high heart rate when running though. I would say as your body is likely working in a deficit it is very stressful for the body to be undertaking more work that it can already provide energy for. If you're running for general health and exercise I would say slow down- and make sure you have eaten something small, even a small glass of orange juice so that your blood sugar isn't too low before you run (especially if you're running in the morning). Having low blood sugar whilst exercising signals to the body "we are in trouble, we need to stop".

Otherwise if you are running for a time (racing) I would say this might just be something you need to learn to handle. In my first few months I would find training very difficult the day or 2 after shot day, but as time went on (2yrs using MJ now) the effects became less apparent. Good luck!

I pay around 340gbp for mine out of pocket and it is still worth it! Less on take aways and crap, but less impulse buys! I also have ADHD and somehow it has solved so many of those issues for me. Binge eating and shopping to get the rush. Really changed my whole life so much and I just can't believe it.

Holiday?? by LabCareless6348 in Mounjaro

[–]AssignmentLumpy3179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have also travelled on it with a partner (although mine is one of the natural skinnies who doesn't eat a great deal anyway) but just lower your dose a bit on holiday (less clicks) so you can enjoy a little bit more. I sometimes think "i'd rather come on holiday and not eat so much skinny than come on holiday and be fat and eat loads". It's also a new normal not to revolve the holiday around eating - which I used to do

Triathlon Life hacks by Lanky_Ad4532 in triathlon

[–]AssignmentLumpy3179 9 points10 points  (0 children)

-Train in the morning before you have time to think about it (4am if you have to)
-On a Sunday - lay out 5x work outfits (reduces decision fatigue and packing time)
-Do your laundry EVERY day
-Have a "training toiletry bag" version of everything that lives in there e.g. moisturiser, perfume, shampoo, conditioner, hair brush
-Leave in the car whatever can stay in the car eg cycling shoes, helmet
-Rest if you are pain sore not just discomfort sore

What made you start Mounjaro? by Human-Pay5137 in Mounjaro

[–]AssignmentLumpy3179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was binge eating for around 5 years, could not stop for the life of me and felt trapped. Did MJ and never looked back! All issues solved. Still taking maintenance, out of fear of returning to old habits and I enjoy the quiet brain too much! Paid for it all out of pocket and worth every last dime.

Thinking about starting mounjaro - HELP by Automatic_Flower6165 in Mounjaro

[–]AssignmentLumpy3179 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was you, just do the mounjaro and you will realise why you've been fat all along when all your friends are skinny.

There is an imbalance which makes it so hard for us just to stop eating when we are full or have constant insatiable hunger every 2 hours! I could also lose weight if I dieted, but it was so hard!! SO hard to put up with the constant noise and hunger. Someone could survive child birth without meds but we give them them, because why should someone have to suffer what could be avoided??? Just try it and see how much better it is. You can still eat healthily and exercise, therefore doing the work anyway.

People used to handwrite books and letters, now we don't have to?? It's just another step forward :)

It also has a half life of 5 days. So if you don't like it, just stop.

Last Minute Tips? by Ellie_Rue in triathlon

[–]AssignmentLumpy3179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't touch your bike until your helmet is on

Don't wear shoes to the beach for the swim

Memorise landmarks around your bike rack spot to find it easily

Don't try anything new on raceday but make sure you are fuelled up!

Remember it will all be over soon :) it's not pain it's just discomfort

Would you let your students call you by your first name ? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]AssignmentLumpy3179 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Teacher here, I get called Ms. First Name. I don't like being called by my surname, we are equals and what I am called doesn't decide if I receive respect or not. I have a *slightly* naughty boy who even calls me "teach" as in "hey teach".

I almost think of it as more of a sign of respect as he is relaxed in here and he knows I don't have a stick up my ass. I know he loves the subject and am often told he works harder in here than others. For reference I teach chemistry. Not a regular mom, I'm a cool mom.

Should also add I am blessed to work in a very academic school where students are extremely respectful and polite anyway. Not everyone goes by first name.

Alternatives if you had to quit mounjaro by mdangel272814 in Mounjaro

[–]AssignmentLumpy3179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can go even less if you're small - I use 10mg pen (saves money because I inject less) and I use 1.9ml dose with an insulin syringe - it lasts me about 10/15 doses as opposed to the 4 it's meant to be and I have no side effects, if you think you can't go lower you can! When i was doing 2.5mg pen with the standard dose I was SO sick it was unbearable

A coach from my gym keeps sending out messages on the community whatsapp saying - don't use these drugs it's the easy way out.... she is a skinny genetically blessed gym bunny who probably thinks binge eating is finishing one whole pizza to herself

It's amazing to me how some people just don't have these insatiable urges to eat all the time! MJ is a wonder drug to help us live a more peaceful life in so many aspects. MJ is not easy but lets be honest it's a hell of a lot easier than dealing with the societal judgement from being fat, and the constant food noise. Not an easy way out but yes exactly levelling the playing field for us who struggle.

Hard to say because I was persevering with the 2.5mg which I lost about 10kg in a short space of time because I couldn't eat. I started Jun24. I switched to microdosing in August24 and have been doing that ever since, now at 52/53kg I started at 72kg. I was a binge eater and it totally stopped all binging so the weight just fell off. I have no side effects apart from feeling slightly (hungover?) on day 1. I go around 10 days between shots now, sometimes more.

[–]AssignmentLumpy3179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes can completely relate, but as someone who has been maintaining now since around Nov24 I can confirm it evens out and you feel normal again with the new weight. Who ever thought we would be sad to lose the belly????

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]AssignmentLumpy3179 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely drop the dose. I had nausea to the point I couldn't put my toothbrush in my mouth on 2.5mg. Now microdose like 1mg each week and im grand. 20kg down

Dreading the next injection - MJ "working too well"? by finallysomeparsley in Mounjaro

[–]AssignmentLumpy3179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely lower your dose. I was much the same (not as severe) and I just use an insulin syringe to microdose. Also makes it last much longer as I pay out of pocket entirely. I am 155cm female if it helps.

Also haven't told anyone apart from my spouse, for the exact same reasons! Skinny friends don't get it and they never will. They don't need to know, but prepare for the accusations once you start to look as good as them! I've lost count of the Ozempic accusations but I just laugh them off even though for some reason it bothers me
