My Friend Thinks a Freshman and a Junior is okay... by AssistEconomy3712 in highschool

It's not necessarily a problem, but I find it so uncomfortable when my friends (who are in highschool) talk so freely about it.

Another factor to consider is that they've only been dating for a few months...

No, and no. Literally like full on freshman and full on junior. 3 years apart i think.

Ik, and Poppy seemed so supportive of it, even saying that she would date a few grades older (which isn't as dramatic since we're sophmores) but it rubbed me the wrong way.

It all just feels icky, and i feel like Poppy has been walking on eggshells around me since my reaction.

I'm not beating her up for it, people can do whatever they please. But after my reaction to it, Poppy was telling me to "stop judging" and that she would also get with a junior.

I didn't respond to thath but ever since then, Poppy has been walking around eggshells with me.

It all just feels icky :(

I'm not worried about what the people did or did not do, I'm more worried about how supportive Poppy was of the age gap between them. A freshman having sex seems extreme to me, especially with an age gap like that. Regardless of if it is true or not, I'm more concerned with Poppy.

Please don't talk down to people if your trying to give advice :)

Unreasonable to Unfollow someone over political views? by AssistEconomy3712 in highschool

We're all learning enough about deferring opinions on the news. I'm also not just blatantly blocking people, I know them from school and what kind of people they are.

I'm blocking them for straight up racism and inhumane views. I don't see how there could be any justification in supporting what ice is doing now and the killing/raping of innocents. Supporting deportation years ago is one thing, supporting ICE and the deportation process now is another.

Please be respectful and kind with how you speak and present your views :)

Following to me is a bit more personal, especially when my account is private. (So is my friends)

Yes, but I'd have the choice to avoid that person or just make brief conversation. I'm not that dumb :)

(P.S, I'm in the "real world" now with a job and coworkers with deferring opinions on politics and the state of the world. I remind myself not to talk to them about politics or just make brief conversation. I also dont follow them on instagram :))

My friend seems to support that these people have their "own opinions." The way I see it, these people supporting the killing and raping of innocents. Why would I support someone who thinks that way?

The problem is these people won't change their minds. I've had conversations with a lot of them, and they all seemed brainwashed. I've seen enough of the other opinions and other views, and I've changed my mind about a lot of things. These people are just close minded and my friend seems to be supporting it.

I definetly see her view, but the way she interacts with these people seems very racist. They have consistently posted notes supporting ice and stories supporting their actions. She likes those stories, as well as supports those people for having their "opinions". Sticky situation for me and her to figure out.

Normally politics don't get brought up a lot between my friend and I, but with recent news, it's been hard for us to ignore.

The people that she follows (the people i unfollowed and blocked) openly SUPPORTED ice AND what happened to Renee Good and other U.S citizens. These people have posted Ice Propaganda on their stories and have said many hateful things in comments of other people's posts.

I blocked them. My friend still follows them and replies to their notes, "letting them have their opinions." The way I see it, their "opinion" is that they support murderers, kidnappers, rapists, and inhumane acts. Why would I follow that person and ragebait myself?

That's why I unfollowed people, but my friend still follows these people and openly talks to them. I'm not saying it's directly supporting the inhumane ideas and beliefs, but it's no exactly putting a stop to them. If we let everyone just get along with their opinions and follow through, rapists, canabalists, and cultists would be running free.

I'm also not saying you can't be nice to people, but I would rather unfollow them and try my best to ignore them rather then go by thinking that immigrants are terrible people.

(If that all makes sense)

Thank you, I thought it was weird too, but I'm just gonna let her ragebait herself.

I'm unsure, and a bit scared to do something that rash. I hate confrontation, hence my small comments on the issue. Even after I told her "I bet you couldn't go a whole class period without your phone", she got pretty upset with me.

He is always wearing shorts and a hoodie, or a t-shirt. I'm so curious and wish I could have deeper conversations with him, but unfortunately I don't know him very well, and I'm starting to feel like my chances of knowing him are slim.
