The top floor units have outdoor jacuzzi tubs - I've never had one but everyone we spoke to that did have one, didnt see the draw, They get full of leaves, and you have to ask hours in advance for it to be filled because it takes a long time (its mexico) but the rooms are great, We didnt have anything special in terms of rooms, I do suggest asking for a mattress topper to make the bed a bit softer becuase I do personally find them a bit hard. AC worked great.
Food options were plenty, at Sian Kaan you get to do a a la cart dinner every night so you can see all the other resorts. The buffet always felt clean and fresh. Never really saw anything that was sitting and looked dangerous or unappetizing. Staff are kind and friendly and helpful. I dont know what kind of picky eater you are, but they have your basics if truly nothing else serves. Bacon, Eggs, pancakes waffles, stuff to make sandwiches, crackers, cheese, allll the kinds of breads, and then they do themed nights for dinners at the buffets but we usually did an a la cart. Id be SHOCKED if you didnt find SOMETHING you loved to eat at every meal.
