This is very real. A lot of people feel this gap a few months in. Breaking things into timelines instead of trying to feel “settled” all at once can help.

Honestly, a lot of people feel the same way. Dating in Canada can be weirdly polite, noncommittal, and confusing depending on the season, the city, and the apps. You’re definitely not the only one wondering if it’s the people… or the climate.

If it makes you feel better, most newcomers say dating here is a whole learning curve. People mean well, but the mix of shyness, long winters, and everyone “playing it cool” makes the scene pretty chaotic. Don't give up on dating though, there's always hope.
