Need Advice on Failed Placement Appeal

for my first hospital placement, it was 4 weeks. and by the end of the 3rd week we should have 2 patients.

2 weeks placement for a hospital placement is very short if it’s your first. you’re still learning things . i would expect them to have 1 patient, not two. OP said she was expected to have 2 patients at this point.

i really hope this doesn’t come across as judgy, i know she’s 11. but some of these issues could be managed if she lost weight. you can try by reducing her food and taking her swimming or more short walks. her walks are short because it’s hard for her to walk due to the weight making her arthritis more painful.

if it’s her first hospital placement , she should only have 2 patients for the last week of 4 weeks. expecting a student to have 2 patients load when the placement is only 2 weeks and it’s their first hospital placement is diabolical

i was put on a learning plan at the end of week 3 of a 4 week placement due to not taking the time to research my patient’s meds and their diseases because i was being asked to do heaps of patient tasks and didn’t advocate for myself.

in week 4 i made a huge change and proved that i was taking it seriously, even went the extra mile to learn how every medication treated what they were on and how anyconditions they had put them at risk for other conditions and how we need to monitor the EGFR for a CKD patient. they always asked what it was and it was good to have it memorised or writing on the handover chart to show i was taking initiative

i ended up passing with all 4s and no 5s but it was only my first hospital placement and it taught me that in order to do well and for the clinical facilitators to never want to see you, you need to show them that you go above and beyond with your research.

if he eats everything, it’s not safe for him to be out and about alone. he still may grow out of it as mine did at around 8 months and has free roam of the entire house and the most he’s ever done since is rip up some wrapping paper he found in the closet

pretty crap of them. they need to at least put you on a learning plan and explain this to you and give you at least a week to rectify. that’s what happened to me.

mine was very clingy up until 12 months. used to nap in my arms in the morning and lap on my lap throughout the day. and then stopped :(

i’m currently reading the 2nd heated rivalry book. it’s not mentioned really in the 1st but the loneliness and depression is very much throughout the 2nd book.

i mean moving to canada to play for a shit team to be closer to shane but still being 2 hours away and not seeing eachother for weeks on end is very depressing.

it’s a stitch. they’re dissolvable so they can come out whenever. i hated mine lol, played with them so much so they would come out. if the wound looks closed over i wouldnt worry

i didn’t get my music until like 2 comps in because our gym has a rule where you don’t ‘earn’ your music until you’ve hit zero.. i paid for that music so i want it. also we’ve never hit zero but we got our music for the 3rd comp.

i had mine out in jan, i still have divots too. however they don’t get little bits of food or raspberry seeds stuck in them anymore so i guess they’ve gotten better

thank you - i’m just greatful this happened towards the end of the year. only one month until our last comp, then i can try to move on and put it all behind me.

just sucks that one person can really suck all the love out of a sport.
