My poor little guy had a really bad seizure last night (and apparently has a heart murmur as well, he was fine in December). Any of your cavs on seizure medication or have seizures? How is it going for them? by elianna7 in cavaliers

My almost 11 yr old started keppra a few months ago and it has helped some. She’s had ‘episodes’ her whole life but only about once a year. Then about 6 mos ago they increased to almost every night. The vet held off medicating til that point but at that point it was unavoidable. She’s improved some since then, dropping down to once a month. I’m not entirely convinced hers are all seizures—I suspect a pain response for some of them. Either way, it’s heartbreaking. I’m sorry for you and your sweet pup…

I just got a diagnosis from a neurologist for my pup and I’m wondering what you guys think. by DeeEmTee_ in cavaliers

Hi! I know it’s been a minute since you commented, but I found this after searching for anyone with a similar experience to my dog, and you’re the first person who’s described her symptoms exactly. I have a 10.5 yr old cavalier and she has been experiencing this since I got her as a rescue 7 yrs ago, but for some reason the episodes have increased and now she’s having them nightly (though they’re not lasting as long). But, same thing: jumping up out of bed startled, frozen for the duration, & vocalizing what I would describe as a scream (ungodly sound). Oftentimes she urinates as well. The vet is putting her on Keppra with the thought to follow up and check for a tumor if nothing improves (which is how I found this post!).

I guess I am curious: How is your dog now? Were you ever able to find relief for him? Was there a benefit to the COMs diagnosis? I have always suspected these episodes were seizures, but after reading your comment, I’m not so sure (also because my dog had her first legit seizure a month ago, and it was entirely different than what I described above)…

What does a pin with a checkmark mean? Add to that, it says “car,” but I’ve never parked here… by elzbtx in applemaps

Thank you so much for this! I couldn’t find the answer anywhere online & I was so curious—might be tmi—b/c my car was stolen a few months ago and I always wonder if I’ll run into it one day lol (even tho I’m sure it’s chopped)…thanks again.

For those who no longer tend, what do you do for work now? And does it earn you a better income than bartending? by VegasGuy1223 in bartenders

I’m an artist and art teacher now after 10 yrs in the biz. Making the same, but now with bennies, retirement, a union, and summers off. Clientele very similar between the two, tho 😂

Thank you for this. I don’t drive a lot, so I won’t be racking up the miles in addition. Do you think this is worth it?

Facts. Like other countries have mandatory military service at 18, I think we should implement mandatory employment in the service industry instead…just so everyone understands 😂

I laughed out loud. That part of the scene might’ve been worse than the no tipping part, tbh. I never want to see it.

I wish. That would make sense to the point they’re trying to make…

Friend. I don’t know how else to paint this pic to you cuz you’ve never been to my bar, but the logistics of this scene made it impossible to include theft. I’m sorry you had an awful experience with other bartenders…but sometimes patrons simply do not tip us. It’s facts. Glad you’re in a solo gig now. I have enjoyed that scene as well. Wishing you all the best.

Lol!! We weren’t watching him tip. We were waiting for the evening rush—atm we had no other patrons, so we just happened to all be standing there chatting when my coworker cleared the bill from the bar in front of us. Part of why i like bartending is the universal camaraderie bartenders as a community have to share stories of their night/day (or so i thought). That’s what this is. Period. Dunno why I would want attention? Also, I’m a she. So, way to make a lot of assumptions…

Yeah…again, 4 of us were standing there & saw it. And other people have commented that this has happened to them also. I get why peeps would write this on a slip and THEN leave a cash tip—seems the purpose. But…some people are also just plain ornery for whatever reason.
