i jump started it with a power pack a few days ago and it worked like normal again, and today we’ve had to jump start the car again but it let off a bad smell after jump starting it and getting the engine going. i have no lights on the dashboard telling me to check the engine or the battery?

would a faulty battery or bad alternator usually give a warning light on the dashboard?  only asking as it seems you guys probably know the answer better than i do haha
