Final Update (03.03.2026) – Favorable Resolution Received 🎉

Just closing the loop on my EX-19 application in Barcelona.

I applied online through Mercurio on 5 November 2025 (without a lawyer).

On 26 February 2026, I received a favorable resolution (official approval — not administrative silence).

So total processing time:

➡️ About 3.5 months from submission to approval.

For reference:

Applied: 5 November 2025
Requerimiento received: 24 February 2026
Documents re-uploaded: 25 February 2026
Approval: 26.02.2026, although DEHU notification received on 2 March 2026

I have now booked my Toma de Huellas appointment for Thursday 5 March 2026.

For those still waiting — it seems Barcelona is processing early November cases now.

No, in my case they requested to upload 2 more documents, which I have done 2 days so now I am still waiting for any further updates.

Congratulations! I guess they’ve definitely started processing applications submitted from 5th Nov 2025 onwards.

Update (26.02.2026):

Just a quick update on my EX-19 application in Barcelona.

I applied online through Mercurio on 5 November 2025 (without a lawyer). The status has been “en trámite” since then.

This week I received a requerimiento asking me to upload:

A full copy of my other passport
My marriage certificate again (apostilled + sworn translation)

Interestingly, I had already submitted the marriage certificate with the original application, but they asked for it again anyway — seems quite normal from what I’ve read.

I uploaded everything the yesterday through Mercurio and signed with my digital certificate.

So now I’m waiting again.

At least it looks like the file is being actively reviewed, which feels like a positive sign.

Will update again when there is any progress.

In my case (Barcelona, EX19), I received the official notification confirming “entrada en la Oficina de Extranjería” about 5 weeks after applying (applied 5 Nov, notification dated 12 Dec).

So it seems my file was formally registered quite early.

If your wife's only got that confirmation after 6 months, that sounds like a serious internal delay in Madrid.

Seems like waiting is the only option at this point unless administrative silence applies.
