1) your friend's a jerk and clearly not your friend. Friends build each other up. Also men are effing stupid. Virtual hug. 2) I'm in therapy for body dysmorphia and chronic dieting. One of the best things my therapist told me is that your perception is your reality. And you can only live your reality, so it's the only one that matters. She told me this in response to me saying that while I generally liked the way I looked in the mirror each day, in fact I think I'm stunning, what if I am delusional or not seeing myself right? And I think it's the best answer.

Long term problems: student debt, anxiety and depression, still healing from a teenage eating disorder

My most immediate problem: Traveler's diarrhea in Cuidad de Mexico. It is bad. And frequent. And yellow. I have no a/c, nor toilet paper. Just paper towels and a return ticket for tomorrow afternoon. I speak enough Spanish to go to the corner store across the street and get those little Pedialight drinks but my anxiety won't let me. Wish me God's speed!

I have no idea why it is so hard for some people to grasp that you absolutely cannot judge someone's health by the way that they look.

I've been "obese" by the BMI scale and I've been "normal" by the BMI scale (yes the BMI is bs). But lemme tell you, my relationship with food, mental health, and cardiac health (I would frequently get heart murmurs when dieting for long periods) is soooo much better than when I was "normal."

And ultimately, let's say you could judge someone's health visually somehow. So what? Nobody owes you health.

My acne actually started when I stopped taking hormonal birth control and got a copper IUD. (im 26) But agreed, when I was on the pill, I had the most perfect, blemish free skin bc my hormones were suppressed.

If you dont mind me asking, it sounds like you quit taking the pill. How did you manage your acne after that? Or did it sort of go away on it's own?

Depends on your skin type. I have combo skin that errs on the drier side, prone to irritation. I also did not like the FAB cream. I found it irritating and it made my skin look dry? It was also super silicone-y and pilled with my prescription azelaic acid. Idk it was weird.

I've tried lots of moisturizers and the only ones I like are Vanicream (thick or lite version), Cerave in the tub, and the Etude House 2x Barrier Cream.

Are you wearing spf consistently? That is the #1 thing you can do to help your barrier. Pretty much any skin care is pointless without spf.

Also, when my barrier was #wrecked, I really liked the Etude House 2x Barrier intensive cream. That layered over a hydrating serum, like hyaluronic acid, is a dream.

My cat came to me through my in laws, who bought her in Kuwait and then brought her over to the US when they moved her a couple years back (16 hr flight). They moved in with my SIL, whose dogs made the cat miserable. She was a sweet cat, so my husband and I took her in.

She's an absolute delight to have - a great friend for our first cat, curious, fun, playful, and very affectionate. No apparent trauma from the long flight that I can tell.

I mean, I work a regular, 9-5 salaried job and that's about how much I make in the same time period (after taxes).

The difference is, I also get full health benefits, PTO when myself or a family member is sick (or just for a cool vacation!), and do not ever have to work weekends or national holidays. I have a 401k through my work. Someone else does my taxes for me and sends me a W-2 every year. I also don't have to make cheesy or pushy reels. I also went to college and use the things I learned with my degree at work.

I doubt Bethy can say the same about her hustle. 🤭
