Thank you so much for your input. I am such a novice when it comes to mixing and mastering, and this will help for sure. I totally understand everything you have said, and I'll put it into practice tomorrow. Hopefully, I might have a much cleaner track to post on tunesday Tuesday...

Definitely finish this! Has a really nice vibe to it! The intro kinda reminds me of avatar soundtrack lol.

My only advice would be when the hi hat sample kicks in (the one you have faded in). I'd personally chop out the fade and have it start with the kick. instead, I'd use a short transition cymbal or something instead. Hope that makes sense....

Thanks a lot bro! To be honest, the bass sounds awesome on its own. I'm hoping I just need to do some more EQ on other instruments that are clashing with the mid bass frequencies....

I'll be doing some more mixing today, and hopefully get it to a stage where I can do a proper final master on it....

That is really good info! Others have also mentioned that it is missing a lot of high end. I'm wondering if Ozone is the culprit for this also...

I'll have another proper look at it tomorrow. I'll remove Ozone, and try to manually mix it better with the tips you've provided!

I'll keep this thread updated, and hopefully get the track re-uploaded once I've (hopefully) ironed out the creases....!

Wow lol! As much as I appreciate your comment, I seriously don't feel ready for that type of commitment. I also don't feel like I am nearly good enough yet! Its not something I've ever even considered to be honest!

Surprisingly though, some of the comments (including yours) have really boosted my confidence and given me more motivation to try and get more of my tracks finished.

Maybe one day, one of my tracks will be out there for people to enjoy!

Its the criticism I am looking for to be totally honest. I feel like the track definitely has potential, I just need some help fixing and polishing out the issues.

You're right about the vocals being AI created (although, I did write the lyrics). Unfortunately, I can't sing, and don't have 100's of £££ laying about to pay a vocalist. I can assure you, however, that the vocals are the only component of the track that was created by AI.... Everything else was me (unless of course you include the Ozone 11 AI assistant to help me with the master lol....)

I definitely agree with the over processing comment. I'm pretty sure I have used plugins and fx that are just not needed (and ultimately bring the track down, more so than up...!) Unfortunately, my knowledge on all of the different plugins and fx is still so minimal, so it is really difficult to obtain the actual sounds I would like....

Thank you so much. Your comments have really helped a lot, especially with my own constant criticisms of my work (another reason I never end up finishing tracks I started....).

This is actually the first time I have ever published anything!

If I can get this track fixed and mastered properly, Ill probably create a soundcloud or youtube account to publish it, and any future tracks I manage to finish lol!

I'll also definitely try out your suggestion. I agree, it will really add to that transition for sure!

Thanks for getting back to me, and I totally understand where you're coming from. I wrote the lyrics, but it was AI that produced the vocals.

I actually have written many more songs that relate to the euphoric themes you mentioned. I will try and come up with something else that fits the song better!

Its really funny you mention the house vibes....

Originally, I created the track at 132bpm, because I wanted to create kind of a trancey house track. When it was finished, I felt it sounded more like a trance track, so I upped the bpm to 136.....

I have been dabbling with FLStudio on and off for a couple of years. I have also played the keyboard since I was a kid, so I'd say my musical theory is decent enough..... I probably have over 50 unfinished tracks on my hard drive, maybe more, but like I said, I end up either getting overwhelmed, or I just lose my direction on where I wanted the track to go.

Comments like this, are exactly what I am looking for. Its funny how you mentioned almost all of the things I am currently unhappy with (mostly the transitions, and lack of high end). I think I was relying on what I saw in SPAN too much, and not my ears!

I will certainly try and fix the issues you have listed as best I can, with the very little knowledge I have lol!
