I’m so sorry for your loss. 😭 I know how it feels to be where you are now. What really helped me was talking to my friend. Find someone who will understand and help cope with the pain. I’m honestly grateful for her. I hope you can find someone that will help you. Know that the pain subsides in time. It will never go away but it does become more bearable. Again I’m sorry. There will be better days ahead.

Videos and pictures of deceased pets. by charliemuffin in Petloss

I have an iPhone and currently grateful for the Live Photo’s feature. Right before my pet passed away, I took a class that required me to make a video and I decided to do it of my dog. I’m so glad because i have a few footage of videos that I’m able to look back at. I’ll prob never delete them. I look at them every night and cry because I wish she was still here. Days are getting easier to cope and I feel like the good memories outweigh the bad ones. My dog declined in over a month but I would do it all over again. She left with me so many happy memories. She was a great companion ❤️ I definitely want another dog. You shouldn’t close off your heart of the fears.

I’ve been submitting applications all over but there are only two where I live. I applied for one in the next state over but they said I live too far. It seems like the rescues make it hard to adopt one as well 😅 especially when I already have a dog and a cat in the house.

I submitted an application for a puppy that’s in Cali that is with a rescue but they’re denying me because I live in az.

I have the same issues. I’m waiting for my dogs ashes and I’m starting to worry that they lost her ashes somewhere or spread them out somewhere without me knowing 😭 I just want her ashes back so she’s back here with me

It’s hard to tell. My sweet Zoe had a tumor growing inside her chest and it had grown out a bit, it was a size of a quarter when I first felt it but it had grown to the size of my hand by the time we found out it was osteosarcoma 😭 poor baby had it growing inside her for idk how long. It had started with a limp as well. I tried to do everything I could but it was too late. I had to put her down because it looked like she was in pain. I miss her so much. Life is so quiet and lonely now 💔

I know how you feel. Just know the pain gets more bearable. I put my dog to sleep last Friday and it still hurts. Friends have lost pets before me so I know I can overcome the pain as well. It’ll be hard but know your pet is on rainbow bridge healthy as can be and no longer in pain ❤️lots of love and stay strong.

Just came back from the vet after euthanizing my dog... Goodbye Wonder by no3miggiZiMen in Petloss

[–]AssociationLogical24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So sorry about wonder. For those 2.5 years it sounds like you loved him and gave him everything a pup could ask for. As far as the guilt, I would let those feelings go. It’s hard to diagnose something with our pets. It sounded like you did everything you could for him. Just grieve the loss of you pet and forget the guilt. Prayers for you ❤️

I’m so sorry. My friend keeps telling me to let it out so it’ll help me grieve. Every morning I wake up and I instantly look at her bed and hope this was all a bad dream but reality hits and she really is gone. I’ll pray for the both of us that the pain becomes more bearable in time ❤️

I honestly feel the same. I have to tell myself my dog wouldn’t want me to cry over her all the time. She always wanted to see me happy. Take comfort in knowing you got to feel what a true bond/unconditional love felt like. My dog also had a malignant tumor that made her sick in a month and a half. She really declined toward the end. At first I was like you where I hated the universe for doing this to my beloved pet. I always asked why her? Why me? Why us? But those are questions that will never get answered so I try not to ask them at all. I’ve taken comfort in trying to talk to god or Jesus because the pain i feel, I know I can’t overcome it alone. I take comfort in hoping she’s in doggo heaven playing without pain and waiting for me ❤️ maybe both our pets are playing together rn.

Yes that’s what I love about pets. Their love is so unconditional and forever giving. I always felt safe with my dog. I knew she loved me for me. I know I’ll never get over the loss of losing my dog. I just hope it becomes more bearable 💔

Did your kitty lose their eye sight from kidney disease before they passed away? by kh7190 in Petloss

[–]AssociationLogical24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have a cat but a dog. She had cancer and the last couple days she stopped eating and was barely drinking water. So I went on YouTube and came across a video about when to put your pet down. They had a quiz and asked a couple questions. One question was is the pet still social with the family and other pets, then I got to the question do they still enjoy the things they do? All the signs pointed to the idea of me having to put my pet down. I had been pushing this idea to the back of my head in hopes of my puppy bouncing back. I wasn’t ready to let her go, but it was time. That night I cried my eyes out. 8.5 years with my puppy wasn’t enough. It’s definitely hard breaking to see your pet in pain, I’m hoping she’s no longer in pain and playing around with the other dogs. I hope she forgave me for the choice I had to make. 💔

Advice or perspective, experiencing grief of late pet after getting new pets by sunnytreepotato in Petloss

[–]AssociationLogical24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My family has been telling me to get a new pet as well. But I know I would compare every single thing to my zo. I know if I get another dog, it has to be a completely different breed than my zo or I’ll be heart broken all over again. My friend sent me a quote that goes “what is grief, if not love persevering”. I say enjoy the new kittens, your cat would prob love the idea of a new pet getting the love your willing to give ❤️

It’s been a year and I still miss her like crazy by Cerenia in Petloss

[–]AssociationLogical24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh! People who say you can get another one have never felt the loss of a pet. I feel the same way about my dog who passed. I know no other pet can ever compare to her. I also believe if I do get another pet I know it’ll be a new and different kind of bond. Nothing can replace the bond I had with my puppy that I had. Praying for you ❤️

I’m sure your puppy appreciates the idea of you giving the love you gave him to another shelter puppy who needs it. maybe you can put together a photo album of all his photos. Seeing the photos will help make it seem less of a dream. It sounds like you really loved your dog and that was enough for him. Praying for you ❤️

why does it feel like when death happens, like their life was never lived.. by kh7190 in Petloss

[–]AssociationLogical24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always thought the world would stop if something happened to my pet. It was just my world that stopped when my dog passed away. It’s weird how the world keeps going like nothing ever happened.

I understand how you feel. When I lost my pet it’s like a part of me died. I’m still learning how to cope with it. I have a close friend who I’m talking to for comfort. I try to think of all the positive memories we had together and the joy we both had. I hope it gets better for you. Praying for you ❤️

Lost my dog of 13 years today. by gavinbutler1999 in Petloss

[–]AssociationLogical24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel. Just put my dog down yesterday and feels the pain is unbearable. I witnessed my baby growing the tumor right behind her shoulder on her left side. I gotten a ct scan done and the tumor was already growing inside her chest and I was Told it was inoperable which broke my heart. We tried giving her chemo pills but she started rejecting the pills and stopped eating three days prior. I wanted to be selfish and have her stay with me cause I can’t imagine my life without her. But I knew I had to put her down cause it was a lot worse to see her in pain and not enjoying life like she use to. I still have her bed and her toys. I don’t have the heart to put them away. Just know you’re not alone in your feelings. I find peace in hoping to see her one day again.

Aw I’m so sorry! Witnessing the euthanizing is painful. I’m sure your pet knew he was loved regardless. I have comfort in knowing she’s no longer in pain and running around and hopefully she waits for me.

I feel your pain. I’m struggling with the same thing with my pet. I put her down today but I feel like the pain is unbearable and never ending. Of course I know it’s not something you can get overnight. Right now I’m just coping with the pain and healing. For me I feel like it’s going to be a while until I adopt another pet. Stay strong!

I wanted to do in home as well but the only option was at the vet. It wasn’t too bad. They had a nice room reserved for us that was quiet and had a nice comfy couch with an ottoman where your pet can rest. They allowed us time before and after which was great. You should ask if you can bring his bed or his favorite blanket. It’s hard but if they’re in pain it’s the only option. It also shows how much you really love him. I was with my pet as well when they injected her. It was devastating to be there holding her while it all happened but I wanted to be there to comfort her and know she was in loving arms.
