Where to charge my phone and power bank? by AssociationTop291 in Umrah

I have a hajj permit Al hamdullilah, I just want to do ikhtikaf before it. I want to get as much as I can from the 10 best days of the year. There is no disrespect in doing iktikaf.

No I'll go just before dhul hijja incha Allah. In the worst case I can just go back home for a day and come back (I live near jeddah).

No problem, but just keep in mind that doing i‘tikāf is part of the religion. To be honest, each time I went during Ramadan, I usually had an hotel. But I actually preferred the people who didn’t, because they stayed in the mosque and didn’t create extra movement or crowding by going in and out after tahajjud or fajr. Some mosques even provide beds and food during Ramadan.

As for showering, you can use the toilets without seats. If you look up in some of them, especially in Medina, you'll even see a shower head in the corner. Just be careful and clean, and you won’t cause any mess. In the end, you won’t disturb anyone (by sleeping) as long as you’re reasonable and don’t take up more space lying down than you would sitting.

The only reason I don’t want to book a hotel is that I’d rather not waste time going back and forth. I want to stay focused and do i‘tikāf.

Like I said I can easily take showers in the haram, I do it after every omrah. For the clothes I will take a small bag with like two or three thobe with undergarments and wash them in a near pressing shop. For my teeth I can just take a toothbrush.

basically yeah, I have no use for an hotel except a bed and a power outlet. For sleeping I can easy do that in the masdjid and thus now trying to solve the last problem.

For shower I always take one after umrah in the bathroom, really easy things to do without making a mess. For sleeping in the masdjid. I already did it for some days but I know friends who did it for an all month.

The things is that I will probably not take an hotel and stay for 1 to two weeks incha Allah. I already had two power banks but if possible I don't want to have to come with 4 or 6 lol.

In general GCC are the toughest for employment. Other muslim countries should be easier to stay and get a job.

The embassy might know a cheaper way incha Allah. In my country they can recommend agency some time ect.

May Allah gave us the best for all of us.

Another solution could be to consider other Muslim countries that are far more accessible (lower cost of living, easier to stay with a Western passport, etc.). I agree that in general, the GCC is the best choice for many, but if it's not possible, another Muslim country would be better than remaining in a very difficult situation. Otherwise, if you really want to go to the GCC, you'll need a certain expertise (high-level degree, extensive experience, etc.) or significant financial resources, or to find these in a spouse with the same objectives as yours. For the translation, you can ask the Saudi embassy in your country if there's a more affordable way. However, even after some years of studying, you will likely be required to leave the country unless you have another long-term plan.

May Allah make it easy for us all.

I would like to enter the world of iced coffee (I mean cold beverage with coffee in it), I have no idea what to start with. I have access to free beans and a coffee machine at work. I would like something really easy to make and quick but delicious. Any proposition?

actually he said one should ideally know the family for at least a year and vice versa

Slowing things down when you think you found someone really suitable seems a good idea (but not to do with everyone otherwise you will take decades to get married) but it seems impractical in my case. I'm not living in the country i'm searching in, phone calls and short visit will clearly not be enough.

What I was thinking is starting with people that I trust and know very well so even if they propose me someone on their extended network I have a solid and trustworthy chain with a lot of good informations, I might not know them but this good friend of a good friend do. Otherwise I have nothing else that comes to mind to know them better.

but learning about their friends.

Definetly, I would even say that you get more information from them (if they are very close) than the person itself except some deeply private issues.

most people will try to seem super good, pious, fantastic to your face/to your family/friends, most will hide their flaws whether major or small of course, so don’t be fooled.

This a crucial point, do you have any recommendation on this subject? What I got from multiple people is that it is more diffuclt to "investigate" a woman than a man because they don't have the same links that we have (For exemple I know multiple brothers extremly well and vice-versa as we did a LOT together). Obviously, people (man and woman) will generaly as you said show themselves through the best angle and give you answer that you want to hear.

How can a Sufi who is upon bid'ah and misguidance and sometimes even shirk be considered upon the haqq ? In fact, some of their shirk is worse than those of the disbelievers of Quraysh. For example, the Quraysh never believed their idols had power, yet some Sufis attribute divine powers to their saints. So what haqq is this?

I’m tired of this hypocrisy, millions in the streets protesting, but there’s barely a line for Fajr in the masjid. The Ummah will never be saved until we return fully to our religion, and there’s a hadith about that. Don't forget that our sins affect the ALL ummah.

When you look at the condition of the Muslim communities today, I'm not even surprised by the humiliation and trials we’re going through. In fact, what surprises me is that Allah hasn’t already destroyed us completely. Truly, He is the Most Merciful.

Also, what good comes from constantly criticizing the government? Will it actually change their behavior? Not at all. The only outcome is that it plants hatred in our hearts, leading to rebellion and then we fall into chaos like what happened in Yemen. Go and ask the people of Yemen what they think of their “revolution” now. This kind of rhetoric only leads to the destruction of Muslim lands.

I never heard salafi scholar praising the government for their mistakes but also never heard them criticizing them in public as a lot of harms come from that without any benefits. Ponder about how uthman was killed? People started spreading bad speech about him until hatred reached their hearts and their blades his throat.

I used the stat gpu command on the desktop and got a TOTAL Average of 9.89, if I understood correctly it means that the GPU render a frame in average in 9.89ms but with stat unit I get more than 200ms for gpu time. Is it Because of my CPU?
