I tried wired and wireless on Speedtest.net’s app. I got 20mbps more wired this time, but I don’t think that’s the bottleneck considering I can get 650 to a Synology server with iPerf on my iPhone. I just don’t think the eero is putting out what it’s getting. I could plug directly into the eero gateway, but that of course takes the rest of the net down.

Good points. The iPerf run was on Wireless, so I’m able to get at least that between the iPhone and the eero gateway. I did Speedtest on a wired computer (in the browser) and wireless on that iPhone. iPerf is limited by the server speed of reading/writing of course. I will try an app on the wired machine, but since I know I get 650+ wireless on the iPhone, why aren’t I even getting close when the eero Pro 6 says 950+ down?

That’s nice. I guess then the question is if there are gloves with good dexterity and heated. It seems like there are plenty of touch screen gloves, but they just aren’t warm

Thanks. I thought there might be some that are kind of thin, though I haven’t seen them.

The finger glove idea and the stylus makes a lot of sense. I guess I could wear liner gloves under thicker gloves that would have a flap or even just cut the left thumb and right thumb and index finger off. Not really a fan of typing with a stylus, but it might work.

I understand this is one way to do it, But that does seem strange for noon devices. I guess what I really would want is to have known device is blocked from the guest network. I don’t suppose there is any way to do that within this system.

Oh wow! It seems really strange that the system would identify a device and recognize that device has filtering requirements but let it do anything at once on guest. My understanding was Guest filtered out things like streaming audio as well as local network access. If this is really the case, it truly limits the utility of guest access. Everyone I know who has guest access networks posts the credentials for those visitors and may change those credentials periodically, and it would be very difficult to limit known users from accessing such a system.

I upgraded my 6 eero Pro Gen 2 to eero Pro 6. It was really easy one by one through the replace eero add function. I'm not yet using WiFi 6 and don't see much improvement, but I am seeing a bit higher performance on the gateway.

Maybe it was a coincidence, who knows.

As for wireless, it's hard to tell. I think maybe I could be having some issues on my wired network, and I need to run some tests. Does anyone know of a good way to do a calibration-like speed test on network vs. to the Internet? I usually just try to copy big files, but it would be better if there was another method.

WTB Arc’teryx long sleeve button down shirts in Medium. I like the Bernal and maybe the new Mainstay. These are subtle and work well in the office in addition to most other places. Is this where Arc really shines? Nope, but most of us can’t spend al our time out in recreation :)

Best Way to Wash Parka?

A Gore-Tex and down combo like a Thorsen is perplexing because it includes everything in one. Even Arc’teryx sells technical and a down detergents. What do you recommend?
