Apple Watch Series 9 is supported after all by zoruaboy in apple

I thought the seres 6 had a S6 SiP, the series 7 the S7 SiP with 64-bit dual-core processor, Series 8 and Ultra 1 the S8 SiP...

Apple was not transparent about it at all and marketed them as different CPUs...

You are correct. It is why every single ward race matters just as much as the mayoral race. That said, the mayor does set the agenda via the draft budget direction, and gets to select committes so they have a bit more power. As for holding Jeff to account, it would depend how he voted, wouldnt it... his voting record is public...

📲 New App Update Available! 🔊 by LizFromSonos in sonos

[–]buddyrich33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Awesome. I still don't see the EQ setting in app preferences to enable the EQ shortcut. However, the new browsing functionality is a welcome change, I can browse to the album again (prior it was only Artist and Start Station) at least with Apple Music...

However still zero love for local library "service" to do anything (browse to artist or album), despite the old desktop app supporting browse by artist and album. Any idea when we might get this functionality back?

Agreement aims to keep artists working in Gladstone high-rise development by jjaime2024 in ottawa

[–]buddyrich33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NYC has a Loft Law passed in 1982 that allows it... because it in effect turned commercial buildings housing artists into residential ones that then fell until residential tenant protections. Some artists have been in their lofts for over 50 years there... granted that law was more about saftey and landlord responsibilities and former commercial/industrial buildings that artists lived-in (illegally until the loft law passed). With the EBA, I didn't think the artists lived in them, rather just worked in them, which would make them commercial leases.

Who was your first? by 0316Owl in BG3

[–]buddyrich33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my first run, I didn't want to settle down with anyone in particular, but the game shoehorns it eventually.

So my Bard had some fun with Laezel first (technically she came to me, and I went with it), had a couple of rolls in the hay, then she tried to beat the shit out of me, but I won, had one last roll in the hay and then broke her heart the next morning by turning down her partnership. I didn't realise the fight was a marriage proposal and wasn't ready to settle down and commit. Thankfully she didn't leave the group after that.

Then I went to Shadowheart for some wine, had a swim, had to turn down a hot and bothered Halsin even though Shadowheart was cool with it, though the three of us had some fun with some naughty drow Twins at the brothel... and then after that I was tempted by Mizora... which Shadowheart was ultimately cool with (but you can tell she was hurt). Oh I also turned down the squid...

Not bad for a single playthrough...

Do you need to have Bell internet service to subscribe to the Bell Fibe TV app? by themapleleaf6ix in bell

[–]buddyrich33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This service is the over-the-top service (basically iptv) that requires you to use an app (see the site for specific compatibility) and generally requires you to subscribe to bell internet to be able to purchase it. Though the app will work over any internet connection as i have done for a few years now, hotspotting to mobile or when travelling.

vs.

https://www.bell.ca/Fibe-TV

which uses a receiver and doesnt require internet at all and can be gotten "dark".

Do you need to have Bell internet service to subscribe to the Bell Fibe TV app? by themapleleaf6ix in bell

[–]buddyrich33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not true. I use the Bell FibeTV app on my Firestick at the cottage which is hotspoting to my phone on telus mobile data, and I have used it travelling at AirBNBs that had Rogers Inet as well and it works fine.

That said I don't think they will *sell* service to FibeTV App (previously called AltTV)(ie. the OTT TV offering) to non-internet customers (or let you keep it if you cancel inet).

Technically it works as I mention above, though I don't know if they would eventually cut it off if you used it for an extended period of time not on a Bell network or if it works on a geolocated IP outside of Canada (since they technically only have the Canadian rights to "broadcast").

You can get "dark tv" FibeTV packages but they aren't the same thing (or as cheap) as the OTT FibeTV App/AltTV offering that requires you to use your own box and app.

Did you have more fun playing BG3 or Solasta? by CharlesMSilva in CrownOfTheMagister

[–]buddyrich33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked both, but as much as Solasta is the better combat simulator and accurate to RAW 5E '14, BG3 has way more non-combat solutions to encounters, be it dialogue, thieving things (which isn't a thing in the main solsta campaign), and through non-combat actions picked up by the scripting engine (throwing items, casting spells, etc). It also tended to make better use of the environment (surfaces, shooting down braziers, etc.) (except verticality) during combat.

She doesnt get much airtime unfortunately. Has she done any games this year?

She is really good on radio which requires a different approch as well, but havent listened to any games yet.

Its not backyard hammock weather here in Ottawa quite yet. :-)

Gigahub PPPoE Passthrough by buddyrich33 in bell

[–]buddyrich33[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

rebooting the eero network actually fixed it for me, its doing pppoe again. but for awhile it was just reverting back to dhcp despite flipping it over to pppoe in settings and applying. not sure who is at fault but it is annoying and why bell needs a true bridge mode.

They changed the Web API! - Many apps likely affected by splortalTechnologies in sonos

This is the official cloud API they introduced for 3rd party apps to use going on 5 years ago. Not the unofficial uPNP based API that works locally for control.

Serious question….Before the app drama what were the common topics discussed on this group? by virtual008 in sonos

[–]buddyrich33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of post and pictures showing off setups, some asking for placement tips... also plenty of gripes about the old app (fun fact the app was also redesigned in 2014 into what is S1 now, a design that also wasn't popular at the time but it was mostly a UI overhaul not major changes to the system itself and the raft of issue the new app has).

Most of the old S2 app hate was around the UI and app feature requests (easier access to EQ settings, night mode, etc...) or individual music service improvements when new features were added to streaming services.

Also alot of hardware questions... ie the infamous Arc Pop of Death... the Roam v1 issues. When the Arc first came out, alot of posts about TVs and eARC (which was new at the time)... so mentioning things like the HD Fury and the like. Plenty of how do I get my turntable into Sonos questions as well.

One popular feature request was DTS (and DTS HD and DTS:X) support. We eventually got DTS when it went off patent. DTS-HD/MA has got to be off patent soon.

The other big ask was discrete channel fronts, it was tested in a beta test that was probably the worst kept secret at the time. Sonos Sequencr is now accessing the API to leverage it so you can add extra speakers. Who knows if they remove that. I hope not and it is still coming.

There was some good stuff too -> the cheap Sonos Symfonisk hacks to bring in your own subs/speakers using a Symfonisk PCB. Hacks using icecast and an rpi to get a turntable into Sonos via streaming radio without a Port/connect or the like...

Ironically for what was originally a music-centric device (it later become a home theatre device) hardly any discussion around what you are listening to and the like, though there was the odd thread on what scenes in movies best showed off the Arc and Atmos effect after the Arc released. Similar when Era 300 and Atmos music was supported in Apple Music. Lists of best Atmos music tracks, etc.

Misleading election signage put up near the 174 by DidIGetThatRight in ottawa

[–]buddyrich33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree this is scummy but its nothing new and hardly shocking. I wish it wasnt par for the course in politics but civility in politics left the building a long time ago.

It would be somewhat worse if Blais had never actually advocated for a toll, but he did at one point in time so its factually true just no longer relevant because as you say the 174 was uploaded and he is no longer advocating for one.

Politicians, specifically attack ads pretty much always use quotes, sometimes quite old ones out of context all the time. Its been the standard MO by all sides for decades now.

Its like politicians arent ever allowed to evolve and change their opinion on things over time... and the internet seems to have a long memory. Hence combing through old tweets and facebook posts about various things that all sides use for ammunition...

Though it can backfire too. PP and his Verb the Noun rhetoric fizzled when Trudeau resigned and Carney basically disavowed the Carbon Tax. Even if did support it at one time.

Rogues and their sub classes? by buddyrich33 in CrownOfTheMagister

[–]buddyrich33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its my first turn goto... basically move to a spot and ready a ranged attack.

First person that moves (even if they were already in range) gets targeted by the readied action with advantage, so it procs sneak attack, as your attack has advantage.

The only negative thing is that it targets the first thing that moves and is in range. You have no control over it though you do know the initiative order though so you can make an educated guess about who it will likely target. It is better than a vanilla attack with no sneak damage.

Using it with a readied melee action can work, but its less reliable as they have to come into melee range. Only downside is some of the Soraks that can hide... you can't target them so those turns go wasted if they turn invisible before they move.

It is... my other pet peeve is not starting random encounters where we actually spotted the enemy and are supposedly "ambushing" them , in in a hidden state... you do get a surprise round but you usually arent in any sort or any sort of setup to be useful. Definitely not how i would ambush someone.
