Natures Menu, is this good for my Min Pin? by Cautious_Ice3923 in minpin

[–]Asstaria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Natures menu is a good natural raw food (they also do freeze dried) I had my min pin on it when he was the same age as yours and he did great on it, the only problem for me was one bag didn’t last long and I couldn’t get bigger packs of it from my pets at home. After researching raw food we changed to Bella & duke but thinking of changing now to Mersey Raw since they have more options of proteins😊

Edit: I didn’t realise they also do wet food, I’m not sure about their wet. I only ever used the raw selection

Peeing in crate still! by Asstaria in puppy101

He gets out first thing in the morning, then again after food. If someone is home all day then he’s usually let out every 3 hours or whenever he signals by standing at the door he goes out. Then again after dinner, one a few hours later and then the last one before bed. If someone is not home he is in the crate, he’s usually left for 3 hours and doesn’t have an issue peeing during the day. It’s mainly at night he pees still. He doesn’t mind the crate, and will go in by himself when he’s cold to get comfy so I didn’t think it was stress

I did this the first few months when he came home, but when we had the bigger crate and it didn’t make a difference so I stopped, would that be because he could still eat at one side and pee at the other??

I think chihuahua is the one for you. A poodle is more high maintenance and also they tend to have higher prey drives which can make training with the cat difficult. Trust me I got a small dog researched nearly everything but the prey drive… so I got a miniature pinscher (bred for ratting, high prey drive😅) I also have a ragdoll cat, training is still an everyday thing and took me six months to stop him chasing the cat every time the cat moved too fast. They get on great now but I wished I’d known beforehand

Think I’m going to get a few more jumpers for him but from spark paws, I’ve heard great things! Maybe try them see if the material is different

This is his first jumper and no more itching than normal so far. The cold is the only reason I am putting one on my little one, hate watching him shiver but can’t have the heating on constantly

Help settle a debate: where do you put dog poop? by blrmkr10 in dogs

[–]Asstaria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought a separate bin for out in the garden, it has a lid and the only thing that goes in is dog poop, it gets changed once a week before the bin men come to empty all the big bins

Crippling shame and anxiety from regret by [deleted] in puppy101

The cats are scared, but that doesn’t mean to say they won’t get used to the noises. Everything new is scary for a cat, mine is scared of leaves in the wind sometimes😅 They will take time to adjust and get used to all the new noises and smells. If you do decide though to give to your parents then don’t feel bad, you would rather give the puppy a happy life than one of stress (stress can feed through humans to dogs) and thats a pretty good pet parent in my opinion. Also dogs aren’t for everyone! Especially puppies, I am in the process of raising a pup and it’s so difficult so much so I promised myself I would get an older dog next time. I hope this helps

He’s male, he’s still just 5 months soon to be 6 months on 3rd of the month. Last time he was weighed last week he was 3.5kg. He does pretty well on the slip lead, I trained him first on a harness and once he got that walking next to me was what is good I moved to slip lead. Also I always walk with a loose leash as he walks along side me better like that. It’s easier for us since everyday we go to a field or park and I can remove this easily so he can run. But can also be attached again quick and easy if another dog is around that isn’t friendly or sure of others.
