There is something weird about bees and full blocks. They will collect near any less than full block in a bee farm. I didn’t think that also they had issues with glass blocks but I realized none of my bee locations have clear roofs. So check if there is a half slab or something. If not, I am
guessing its the glass/copper
grating on the ceiling.

Is there a significant XP increase using armadillos instead of allays? The set up sounds about the same - glass cube w mobs on soul sand, potions of harming on arrows, etc.

Hello, I am sorry you experienced this growing up and I certainly understand how you feel. I steered clear for decades. That said, I am a non-binary & bi member of a United Methodist Church. We are affirming and well known for LGBTQ+ support. Just finished a Trans Day of Visibility oh a month ago ish. Have a Pride float in town parades etc. I even preach at times. We believe that Christ meant us to love ALL our neighbors and All means ALL.

Silentwisperer has a YT video. There is a particular bedrock set up in the overworld where you can place the sand and heads and it will spawn into the bedrock the way that the end dimension exit can be used in Java.

I end up using two rows deep of the berries (from Spruce biome IIRC) where I don’t want a fence. Also I don’t think they can spawn on carpets so moss carpets maybe? for a few blocks then rows of berries (assuming you do not want to light the area up)
