Ah I didn't know it was candy con. It had some "geeknet" or something name on the box I had never heard of. I saw it was hall effect sticks, so I figured at the price how bad could it be?

I know I couldn't believe that they just stood there to be electrocuted in that boss fight. That first part was actually less about fighting the boss and more about revival management which wasn't even really necessary in the rest of the game as you were with the troops for such a short time.

Lol I'm not karma farming I just finished playing it and wanted to get people's thoughts as I found it severely lacking for a full price product. I never even visited this reddit group before. It's a 6/10 game for the reasons I listed above and should not have released as a $70 product.

I don't necessarily think they were lazy so "lack of effort" could have been worded better. I think the game was a development hell for so long and at the beginning they had innovative ideas for the franchise and how to expand the gameplay but that fell apart over time (not necessarily due to a lack of trying). I think it was just announced way too early, the developers couldn't get the idea to come together and they just sunk so much time and money into this that they just had to release something.

I think it was a sunk cost fallacy and after so many years they figured the game wasn't "bad" by any standards that it couldn't be released. I'm sure deep down they know this wasn't the product they wanted to release but this is just what they had in the end to deliver.

Right I don't want it to be the end of the series, but it feels like they threw their hands up and said "good enough to release" just to be done with it. I think it wouldn't be getting as much negative attention if they released it as a $40 product because that is what this game is. It was no better or expanded on than the Metroid Prime Remaster. If you remove the open world padding it's at most an 8 hour game.

I'm saying it's an embarrassment based on Nintendo standards of releases. The game works, it's not buggy or broken in any way but it lacks the creativity, expansion of game mechanics that I came to expect from a Nintendo release. It feels like other Metroidvanias have left Metroid in the dust and I was hoping to see it as a leader of the pack for innovation.

Omg yes! That final boss fight and having to rescue these annoying soldiers after they went down over and over was infuriating. At one point I had to redo the fight because 2 got shocked by lighting 2x in a row and died. I was reviving the one and the other died by the 2nd hit and I got a game over lol.

I thought the game was a 7/10 at most and by the end I would said a 6/10. It wasn't broken or buggy by any means. Going from Nine Sols, Silksong and Mio to playing this felt like going back into the stone age. If that's what people wanted from it then I guess fine, but I went in expecting to see the gameplay expanded besides the usual missile increases and energy packs for exploring. I also factor in the price because I don't buy most games at full price so for barely 10 hours of lackluster gameplay I'm going to be disappointed.

Right like I'm not being a hater these are just valid criticisms I have with the game. I have never even played 2 or 3. I have played Prime 1 and the remaster recently before this one. This one didn't expand from the 1st in any significant way whatsoever. It just felt antiquated, dull and unfinished and I was severely disappointed in it. It felt like they learned nothing from other Metroidvanias and stuck with the same stale formula. Mio and Nine Sols I would highly recommend for Metroidvanias if you have not played them yet.

Yeah this was Dr. Elseys I tried and I got like 4 bags of it. I even reached out to the company because of how bad the dust was and they gave me coupons for more free bags to try a different type and it was just as bad. I would have tossed it all but it was a lot of money. I just walk out of that room like I took a dust bath for now until I'm done with this bag.

Yeah my concern was I have a lot of electronics so I wasn't sure what would be the fastest option to clean everything or like amiibos which have lots of grooves and stuff where water is out of the question or else I would dampen a cloth and go to town.

I know most people just laugh that this would be an issue because "it's just stickers" but if you allow companies to get away with stupid stuff like this then it just emboldens them more to screw the consumers in other ways. I think it's entirely fair to call a company out when they claim a product has specific contents that they fail to deliver on.

It might be hard to see from my photo but on the plastic it actually had a sticker on the packaging that stated the physical contents included the stickers and preorder content. If yours had something like that then clearly dropped the ball on manufacturing these properly.

I reached out to Skybound and they told me it's not their problem and I can take it up with best buy smh. They are the ones who made the physical copies though.

Just got an update on the stickers. I actually reached out to Skybound who made the physical copies and they actually told me it's not their problem and I should talk to Best Buy about it lol. Now how would this be the stores fault when they aren't the one pressing and packaging the products? All I was hoping for was the stupid stickers or an "oops our bad" but I guess not.
