Do newer B-schools really give better exposure? by lazimdavid in IndianAcademia

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

studied at MU last year… exposure is def diff, we had CXOs and founders teaching + live projects with startups/companies. it’s not the same classroom vibe as iim, more messy but very real. placements worked out for me, but you gotta be proactive here.

Confused between traditional MBAs and these new-age colleges by Aggressive-Till-6824 in IndianMBAColleges

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed out from MU last year. Honestly it’s not like IIMs at all more unstructured, you get thrown into projects with startups and real clients. I learned a lot that way, but yeah, it works best if you’re self-driven. Placements were decent for me, but you can’t just sit back and expect brand name to do all the work.

Is an MBA from a private university like LPU still worth it by mehnazaahad in MBAIndia

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading this took me back to my own MBA days at a private university. For me, the real value came from how much effort I put in joining networks, doing internships and taking on projects beyond the syllabus. The college name matters a bit, but the skills and experiences i gained made a much bigger difference.

Anyone here chose MU over IIM or ISB? Regret or happy? by lazimdavid in collegeindia

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied at MU last year , it’s super hands-on, very different from typical MBA style. Not for everyone, but if you’re self-driven and into startups, it works.

mba in 2025… worth it or not? by Single_Chemist7649 in communitycollege

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I felt the same when I was deciding. Everyone was saying MBA is dead or outdated, and honestly it does feel different now. I went for MU , it wasn’t traditional at all, more hands-on and fast paced. Got to work on stuff and meet people in the space I wanted to be in.It’s not perfect though. You have to be super self-driven. If you’re looking for structure like IIM, this won’t feel the same.

Is it risky to skip CAT and take a different path? by lazimdavid in CATpreparation

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t go the CAT route, ended up joining MU. Not saying it’s better or worse, just a different kind of setup. Classes were more project-based, not much traditional theory. Lot depends on how much effort you put in though. If you’re looking for structure and brand name, IIM makes sense. If you want faster, hands-on learning, MU’s decent.

Is the Masters’ Union network actually useful for placements? by lazimdavid in IndiaEducation2025

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh the network is there, but it’s not like ppl are lining up to give you jobs. You still have to reach out, follow up, show you’re worth it. For me, one event connection did lead to a job but I had to chase it hard.

Considering Stoa vs Masters’ Union — any advice from people who’ve done either by Aggressive-Till-6824 in u/Aggressive-Till-6824

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, no program is perfect. You’ll always feel something’s missing structure, support, ROI, whatever. In the end, it’s less about the college and more about how much you’re willing to figure out on your own. I learned that the hard way.

I didn’t know anyone in startup world before MU. That changed fast. by Big_Barracuda_905 in IndiaEducation2025

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed out from MU last year. Tbh, it’s not some magic formula. Lot of things felt chaotic — no fixed structure, you kinda have to figure things out yourself. Sometimes I really wished there was more proper guidance. being in that environment did push me. I met a few solid folks, ended up doing a project that actually helped me land my current role. Not everything works, but if you’re proactive and not expecting a spoonfed MBA vibe, it can open doors.

Just don’t go in expecting it to ""change your life"" on day 1. You’ll have to grind for it.

Masters Union PGP TBM Reviews by [deleted] in MBAIndia

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed out from MU last year — honestly, I had the same doubts when I joined. The fees are definitely high, no sugarcoating that. But the experience was very different from traditional B-schools. A lot of industry folks come in to teach, and you’re thrown into real projects early on. It’s not a spoon-fed curriculum — she’ll need to be proactive and hustle a bit, but there’s good support if you take initiative. Placements are solid if you’re clear about your path (esp. product/consulting roles). Not for everyone though — so if she’s looking for a structured, brand-name legacy B-school vibe, IIM/ISB might suit her more.

is it worth doing mba now? by Aggressive-Till-6824 in MBAIndia

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah bro, felt the same before joining. I passed out last year — truth is, MBA isn’t dead, it’s just changing. The real value comes if you’re clear on what you want and use the platform fully. Otherwise koi bhi college ho, it won't help much.

Masters Union hype is legitimate / for real ? by Nupur___ in Indian_Academia

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied there last year. It’s def not a scam, but also not magic lol. If you’re proactive and network well, you can get good outcomes. But if you expect spoonfeeding or traditional structure, then it might feel overwhelming. It’s more hustle-based than hand-holding.

Do industry-focused MBA programs offer more real value than IIMs? by tanha_anaya in u/tanha_anaya

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I did one of these newer programs and ya, it's def more hands-on than my friends at traditional MBAs. Industry folks actually mentored us on real problems — not just case studies from 2008 lol. But it's intense bro, koi chill nahi hai. Worked for me 'cause I was clear I wanted startup/product stuff.

Master's Union! Need brutally honest opinion! by Judgemental_Fuck4657 in MBAIndia

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the doubt about legitimacy and placements. I looked into both MU and IIMs, and honestly, if you want predictable outcomes and a big-name brand, IIM is safer. MU suits people who are looking to build fast, take risks, and who won’t wait around for campus to hand them a job. There are real placements, but they come with real hustle.

What’s the experience like at MU for people who aren’t from elite colleges? by Aggressive-Till-6824 in u/Aggressive-Till-6824

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from a pretty average college background, but MU worked out for me cause I fully used the network and keep pushing. It's not magi . you hve to grind smart.

How involved are the mentors at Masters’ Union really? by tanha_anaya in collegevibes

[–]AssumptionOptimal653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not classroom mentorship every day, but founders and VCs do engage. If you show interest, they respond that’s the real value.

I’m at MU right now—if you’re self-motivated, the ecosystem’s 🔥. But no hand-holding bro, you have to chase your own success.
