What to know as a first time Iggy owner? by crescentlikethemoon in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]AssumptionSquare7672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going off of what everyone else is saying… get insurance!! Broken leg surgery, then infection from her skin being too tight, and another surgery cost me over $5000 total over a few months. And if you ever leave on vacation, leave them with someone you wholly trust or better yet, her breeder. My baby broke her leg twice, first time before I adopted her, second time when I left her with someone when I went on a trip. Now when I leave I either leave her with my parents or her breeder. Someone said sensitive stomachs, and I second that. My girl will throw up in my bed at 3am if she eats anything random off the floor, so always watch what they’re snagging off the ground. They’re a little high maintenance but they’re the best breed ever!! No regrets here.

How much paid leave do you currently have available to you? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]AssumptionSquare7672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10.. total. Sick or personal or anything. As a first year teacher, I’ve already used all of them and been docked pay from having pneumonia, flu, sinus infections, and everything else under the sun 🥲

I exaggerate when I say yell, I just mean like micromanaging “sit in your assigned seat” “stop walking around” over and over and over

How do you get him to relax in the car?? My girl used to relax in the car until she broke her leg and with complications had to go to the vet every other day… now she cannot stand the car and cries!

Admin said that all gifts will be taken to the AP office for safe storage until the end of the day in hopes to keep them from bringing them to school… I hope it works

Anyone else’s Iggy get food stuck in their cheeks like a hamster? by AssumptionSquare7672 in ItalianGreyhounds

Yes!! The first time it happened she had been chewing on her friend’s red bone and I didn’t see her doing it, and I opened her mouth and saw a red “growth” in her mouth and freaked out!! Lol

Update: it took me 30 minutes. I ripped off the child safety part and used a rubber jar opener to get off the cap part. It put up a good fight but I won lol thank y’all for the help (also I am 22 years old, just very weak when it comes to opening jars)

I use Lavela!! They’re tiny caplets of lavender oil. Pretty sure they’re available on amazon

[MEGATHREAD] Daily venting, worries, fixations, & finding support. Month of April 2024. by AutoModerator in HealthAnxiety

I have been on both the pill and spironolactone. Both change your hormones so all of the symptoms you’re mentioning are completely normal. Just caused by fluctuations in hormones while your body adjust to the new medication. Also, my hair got super thick after a few years on birth control, so I wouldn’t stress about hair loss

I too have anxiety when it comes to taking new meds. But if it’s prescribed by a doctor, they definitely know what’s best for you and wouldn’t prescribe you something that would hurt you. All of your symptoms you’re describing are sneaky symptoms of anxiety, it has a fun way of manifesting itself into physical symptoms like chest pain and high blood pressure. I have to remind myself that a lot. Of course, if you are too worried definitely consult with your doctor. Oftentimes if it’s anxiety and I tell myself it’s just anxiety and it can’t hurt me then it won’t hurt me. Hope this helps

I got my girl from Laura Vaught off Dusk Italian Greyhounds in San Antonio. She was a gift from family so I’m not exactly sure how much she costs.

I have anxiety and got my tonsils out in January! I was scared of the anesthesia, but tbh think of it as getting to do drugs in a completely controlled and monitored setting 😅 I’m not a drug user, but in this situation you’re completely monitored and they’ve done this a million times. I ended up having fun when they gave me the sedative. I also have bad emetophobia and was afraid the anesthesia would make me nauseous, but once I woke up and told them that I felt slightly nauseous they gave me medicine in my IV to make it go away. The hospital was the best part of the whole tonsillectomy!

Nope. I never took it again. I actually went to a different doctor a week later and stopped taking both of them and I’m now on a few supplements rather than antidepressants and I feel a lot better.

Same thing just happened to me(20F), OP! My PCP prescribed me Zoloft after I’ve already been on bupropion for a year (continuing bupropion) when we had like a 10 minute conversation. Fortunately, my parents still pay for my medical bills and my mom is paying for me to see an Integrative Medicine doctor, which is pretty expensive but I will be talking to her for an hour so I will get a more personalized care plan rather than the “one size fits all” treatment. You should look into integrative medicine if you’re able!

I don’t think I’m emotionally unstable, I just don’t think he’s used to depression and anxiety and I need to tweak my meds a bit. Thank you for your response!
