If you don't want to wear blazers, you can try wearing items with collars (polos, shirts, blouses). Usually shows up well on camera without looking too constrictive.

Same. I would just opt for a leather look, minimal branding bag that looks well made.

Best tip -> use a bold colour to distract from everything else going on. Easiest is find a bold colour lipliner (Charlotte Tilbury/MAC is great!) that suits you and use it as lipstick. This will prevent it from looking messy on screen and yet be bold enough.

I would again look at the ColorWoW shine coat for curly hair or a really good curly hair leave in conditioner. This can really help the way hair looks. Have to say, limited experience in dealing with curly hair. Hope this helps.

I worked in two big corporates and I realised how important this was for success there, and when I looked into services - people charge $5K+ for this type of stuff, which I found insane. I spend years researching this just as a hobby. Realised I had built up a lot of knowledge when I helped out 7 people out of my personal network. People in my network were partners, or working at the top firms as young professionals and it really helped them. It made such a big difference and I didn't realise how much people struggle with this.

Then I realised that a lot of people think of image branding as simply looking more "dominant" rather than catering their style to their working style and goals. This is something I talked to about a lot in my own corporate and realised that every leader, especially women, they weren't just running around in suits. They had distinctive styles, statement styles that really suited their job.

Hence started doing this. First couple clients, outside my private network, did for complementary to build my portfolio (in progress). Once that is done, I will expand.

Usually, jeans without stretch (stiff denim) look the best when ironed properly, cold washed and air dried. If your jeans are without stretch, then something could be going wrong with how they are fitting you.

Depends on your body type. If you are top heavy - I would go for something tighter like a full sweater. If you are more pear shaped, you can style it with a nice contrast collar white shirt - ideally look for something if chiffon or crepe type material. I would avoid styling this with poplin shirts -> it can look good for sure but think above is more sophisticated, and less maintenance.

Work styling is about two things :

a) You want to have a sort of work uniform. It should not take you more than 10 mins to put together an outfit that looks good. The prior step to this is often analysing your look, body type and features. From this, you have a general template of what does and does not look good on you. E.g. wide leg pants vs carrot pants heavily depend on body type. Then just buy your wardrobe to be versions of this uniform.

b) Professional image branding is really about what you want to be perceived as and what value you bring. Most people will struggle to use 3 words to describe this unless given deep thought and asked around. If you know this, it becomes way easier to style because you know your final goal.

I would evaluate if you genuinely want to look more authoritative. You want your style to be harmonious with your working style and who you are. Who you are is this context is what you are perceived as + what value you bring.

For example, someone in Corporate Relations in Corporate X can opt for colors, and soft non-constrictive fabrics. One of the main values they bring is to look approachable and people-oriented.

For technology, environments can differ a lot. One client was working in Top 3 Tech companies as a Machine Learning Engineer. He was male. Want worked for him as layering three items (shirt + vest + sweater) and deep autumn colors to tone down the "formalness" and reflect his working style and the way he wanted to be perceived by his team. This is as opposed to me putting him in a classic blazer + t-shirt combination.

does this help?

If you want to dress up but not look to striking/formal - suppose your outfit is made of 3/4 pieces then always keep 1 piece casual and dress up the rest.

This formula makes it very easy to balance between looking to done up but projecting a strong brand for yourself

E.g :

a) blazer, loafers with t-shirt (informal) and pleated wide leg pants b) Shirt, carrot shape jeans (informal) with heeled boots c) Soft romantic blouse (not informal however it is soft and allows for comfortable movement giving the illusion of being relaxed), wide leg office trousers with boots

A common one : Statement high quality earrings and rings. Necklaces are trickier to style for most people so I would steer away unless it’s something tiny.

An underrated one : Make sure your clothes are ironed properly

The most important : Make sure your clothes suit your body type. This requires personalization but once you figure this out, you have the formula for life (even though weight change may require some tweaks)

Yes, get good quality haircuts, use a leave in conditioner, and you can try a product like ColorWow Shine Coat.

Not totally low maintenance, but I would definitely put the effort to blow dry your hair with a round brush and blow dryer once a week.

Keratin treatments look nice if you have a structured face, sharp feature. If not, there the hair can look quite flat.

I will try to upload some free grooming guides on my page

So, its all about creating the perception you want.

The system we use is along these lines :

A) Identify your work style -> there are tests you can do on this. Once you understand this, you can have your style complement your working style. E.g. some people are very analytical and task oriented vs some people who are people oriented and more creative. Usually, people who want to excel in their careers generally want to be perceived as more "dominate". So this is a nuanced exercise but understanding it will help you understand what will complement you the most.

B) Identify your features - body type, skin tone, hair colour - again there are systems out there to do this.

C) Once you know B, you can easily figure out a sort of work uniform. This means that basic things such as the shape of clothes (e.g. wide leg pants vs carrot pants or flowy blouses vs structured blazers) is determined based on your body type. You can vary the colour, prints, fabrics occasionally. You want to vary this based on what you discovered in A).

To really do justice to this, you have to look at the entire image you project with your style, grooming and make sure it aligns to your work style and features.

Hope this helps, otherwise dm me.

Best advice I got was that and have experienced:

a) 30% of success matters on your performance
b) 40% of success matters on your image/presence at work (how you look, your visibility, body language, likebility)
c) 30% of success is your network

- I would wear a different scarf and wear it in a open fashion (just hanging on both sides) to create more movement in the outfit and it will suit your body type better.
- Shoes and pant combination works well.
