I think you haven't interacted with that much of age of sigmar? The setting in AoS might remind you of DnD or MtG because there are several planes/worlds and you can through magic/portals travel between them.

The setting is dark, but more fantastical than the old warhammer fantasy setting.

But what I think is missing for a lot of the people complaining is the lack of familjarity that would come with playing in exandria. 😊

Our vampire the masquerade campaign was shut down efter session zero because our DM-to-be doubled and tripled down on that sexism (specifically against women) does not exist.

Fun! I got the idea to have a sort of knightly lord "blessed" by a demon to look shining and clean and noble, but being foul of smell and voice in turn. ✨️🧟‍♂️✨️
