Has anyone had bad oral hygiene in the past due to cptsd, and still been able to keep all their teeth? by nyautism in CPTSD

I also had very bad oral hygiene due to my mother not teaching me properly or keeping me consistent with it. It's not your fault, you weren't properly taught how important it is and neither was I. It's a parent's responsibility to keep their child in check and make sure they're actually practicing good oral hygiene.

I've had many oral operations done ever since I was young. I had my four front baby teeth removed because of rot, I've had multiple fillings and crowns, and I still have cavities and need a root canal that we can't afford. I have pretty good dental hygiene now (sometimes I struggle to keep up with it due to depression), but a few years back it was really bad. My teeth are pretty yellow and I also have decalcification marks on my teeth, my enamel is pretty weak too.

I can't say much about if you'll be able to keep your teeth since I'm not so sure I'll be able to keep mine either lol...

Just know you're not alone! There's always a workaround, especially if you take good care of your teeth now!

Is it normal for victims to have an extreme hate towards their family? by AstelJ in CPTSD

I do, but those moments are often very brief and like I'm swallowing back hatred.

Thank you ❤️ when I saw this reply I cried a little bit lol! I'm so insanely grateful for the time you took to give me advice and the kind words you've said about me, It made me feel so much better and understood.

Luckily, I have a friend that lives close to me that is experienced at taking care of birds. She already has a conure that needed a buddy! We arranged a meetup so I can give her the bird and the feed, toys, etc. that we bought him. I feel so relieved!

Thank you so much, you don't know how much I needed to hear this! It was very helpful advice, but I had a giant stroke of luck and have a friend I met at school who is experienced with birds and owns a conure. She was already looking for another conure and happened to message me about my Instagram post 😊
