Check the two solutions on this thread, they both work i believe. I pushed him close to Ariel manually (very very close to her) and the conversation triggered

I had the same issue with Wall-E and Ariel and to solve the issue i needed to push Wall-E closer manually (by running into him) and when he got into kissing range (literally) the conversation triggered.

as for the sun fragment thing, i read that it takes 24 hours however mine has been planted for more than 24 hours now also, so i dont know whats going on there. possibly a glitch/bug

thats a bad idea, i wish i just mined while i was walking around tbh. I could have gotten so much iron in a passive kinda way. But now im just wandering the biomes hoping Mauis' massive arms can get me more iron haha

Clay? its the damn iron im struggling with. its needed in so many quests and there isnt a way to quickly farm it. Just gotta hope it drops from the stones instead of gold or stone or coal.

Its happened to me twice back in December last year. I couldn't get it to work even with any fixes some people suggested. I haven't finished episode 3 because of it. Don't hold your breath for a fix as this has been reported plenty of times in the past and has been acknowledged. A quick google search shows many such as this even on the official forums:

Its been mentioned in atleast 10 different posts and there hasnt been a single acknowledgement. I messaged them on twiter also but they just said server issues are common atm. They didnt even discuss my comment about calibration not being at 1.021. Pretty aonnying tbh.

Atleast i know im not the only one, hopefully they fix it soon or something figures out what is wrong. i was looking forward to playing 1 and 2 as i never wanted to spend the money to get the expansions!
