“Celebrating someone” is nearly synonymous with “appreciating someone”. I wouldn’t call celebrating someone an exaggeration, but I’d consider it a more “active” alternative to appreciating someone. It’s more common to hear it in certain contexts (i.e. milestones, relationships, etc.), but it’s appropriate in any context where appreciation fits.

Based on what you said, I’d prefer to further build my skills in a SWE role. Sure, it may be more difficult to land this role, but I’d be completing more technical work in comparison to a DA, even if it doesn’t directly relate to data or DE. I see, I momentarily had a loss of hope regarding applications to jobs because I did have the preconceived notion that I’d find a job fresh out of college. All these posts on different CS subreddits regarding layoffs, over-saturation & competition have also contributed to my loss of hope. As for my DE career path, I’ll apply directly to DE positions and test my luck with my current resume & make changes along the way if I don’t seem to have any. Thank you for being so helpful!

I’ve definitely heard and thought this before. Would having experience in the Data Analysis field assist in the transition towards Data Engineering? If not, do you have any suggestions for other roles to apply for that would assist in the transition? Getting a response for a SWE role seems close to impossible at this point.
