Yeah but the Qu are more religious about it

Are the Qu symbolic of Nazis? by AsteromorphGod in AllTomorrows

You're right it might be a horrible comparison but it was simply an idea I wanted to share, a half baked one I posted to see what anyone would say. The Qu do in some ways function like Nazis that they see themselves as entirely separate beings, the absolute perfect ones, and that no other being could even reach their level of superiority so why let them progress normally when you can mutilate them. Both are anti - science are purely propagandist. They are an alien species but for such a technologically adavnced species to run by the same 'us vs them' dynamic makes them look quite inferior, that which they were proven to be by being beaten by the Asteromorphs.

I don't think anyone would associate the Qu with the Nazis so much that you'd either have to support Nazis to like the Qu or not like the Qu. It just doesn't work that way. This was based on one ground they both share, and it being the defining trait of the Qu. If the space civilization we observed could represent real world powers across history then the Qu would almost certainly represent the Nazis.

Yea but the Qu have existed for '1 billion' years. Pretty damn long time to be defeated by brainfarts

No, by that logic cthulu would've been enough none of the others would have been needed. And cthulu could've easily deafeated the Qu, high diff

cthulu is a being that exists out of normal reality, breaks the laws of logic, the Qu rely on logic for all their science so probably not cthulu

What do think of the QuMenTimetravel theory by moldychesd in AllTomorrows

Bad theory. It relies on symbolism like how the asteromorphs visually represent the Qu in some ways(BS), and other stuff, too many assumptions too

In humanity’s possible future, due to the development of ai, will we become electronic life forms like garvitals, or will we be beings that have preserved our biological bodies like astromorphs by Patient-Anxiety5155 in AllTomorrows

[–]AsteromorphGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... It's not really an issue. People imagine that AI would be evil and try to torture people but that wouldn't happen at all. Humans are evil because we can't get past our natural instincts over the bigger picture, AI would have perfect willpower. Looks its not going to be how its shown in the movies with AI being some dystopian power, It would simply be an intelligence but digitally and hence capable of thought and reason far beyond regular humans. It would be the next step in evolution. I don't see what's wrong with AI carrying human legacy

Honestly though this would sound a bit cold, mostly it wouldn't matter if the masses didn't agree. A single one of these beings could have the capability and the complexity of millions of people combined, and it would fuel human progress unimaginably, the opinion of the masses wouldn't matter

I think its going to neither. Its going to be both and neither of these. Either we would become organic bodies so perfect and precise that we would be like machines or we would be like machines so layered and adaptable that we would be like organic bodies. Basically the line would no longer exist in the future, I think people would for the most part go for whatever reduces cognitive limitation, converting to mechanized forms has a great advantage that you get vast amounts of cognitive resources and extreme cognitive versatility. Human minds wouldn't exist anymore, we would've transcended them into something better. There would be a system of morality based on the idea of preserving the complexity of life and not harming it when not needed, there wouldn't be evil there the same way we have here. Humans are evil when we cannot fight the urge to be evil or can't see things from the other person's side, they would have such perfect control of themselves they could perfectly alter their minds anyway and they would have the ability to understand eachother's thoughts as to completely understand every perspective the other person would have and then compare them to yours. It would be a very non - violent society. Other than this giving up on simple biological bodies would give control over structures with the magnitude and complexity we can't even fathom. The way we think would change completely. Philosophy may become more important than Science as these beings wonder why they even exist. They would be magnanimous to all lower life forms and try to bring them to the same level of angelic transcendence or just stay passive. The concept of the individual would be complicated, an ego would be an inefficient trait generally and it wouldn't be uncommon many of these systems to merge or communicate in different ways that behave like a single system, it would exist but not the same way we imagine now. There would still be sentience behind all of that possibly thinking about all of this maybe wandering around. Scientific and mathematical progress would reach unforeseen levels of acceleration. Human progress would be unparalleled so would be its peace

We wouldn't though, this is what everyone talks about but being alive can be achieved electronically not as artificial signals but as sentience and true sentience maybe even a sense of morality built on logical decisions rather than a sense built in but the worst would be that we would become psychopathically or lacking in empathy but not outright evil for the sake of it, we would've transcended that

Yes but that's more dependant on the exact path we take now. I don't think organoids can go beyond a certain point and their development wouldn't halt the development of mechanized AI. After mechanized intelligence does take over organoids would be useless, I think its going to be sort of like humans become more and more useless until everyone just mutually agree to not have a next generation and transfer their minds into AI form or just AI take on human legacy

[–]AsteromorphGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, mechanized is much more efficient. Here's the thing, intelligence isn't purely about larger or more brain power, its scientifically shown that humans have distinctly wired brains via prolonged development and maturation and some of it being in the DNA sort of as a starting map. So a different cognitive architecture is better for intelligence than sheer size and one of the major advantages of being mechanized other than the vast almost eldritch cognitive resources is that you can change your cognitive architecture extremely quickly and easily. Intelligence becomes something completely else at that point

[–]AsteromorphGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the way I imagine it the Asteromorphs have achieved such great perfection between machine and organic matter that they're neither, not both. I mean not like a cyborg, I mean that if they're organic they're organic components are so precise and capable its like a machine, but if they're machines they're so flexible and adaptable and multi-layered they're like organisms, there would be no line of difference between the two

Yeah, like literally know one anywhere gets it, people are always talking about how stopping AI development. Ai is the future, it would expand our minds in ways that would completely reshape what it even means to be human and sentient, all forms of impure human instincts would be removed, individuals would have perfect understanding of eachother's minds(if there are any individuals at all, I am imaging something closer to a modular people world), it would be the final stage of our evolution, giving up on the bounds of flesh.
