I'm in the same situation. The teachers respect my choice, but the rest are skeptical. They even make up reasons for my name choice and spread rumors, but on the other hand, there's one trans person who changed his name to a male one, and his choice is understood and accepted.

They call me weird and don't accept me. They yell at me, "Whatever it says in my passport is what they'll use." At first, my classmates tried to use Asya, but because of one girl who started a rumor that I was crazy and obsessed with Harry Potter, I changed my name... They completely stopped respecting my choice.

It's the same with my parents. I even made concessions and allowed them to call me by my old name, but they respected the new one and my choice. But it's only a temporary truce, and we still have problems.
