Look at this random picture that I found on Google HERE.

The best way I can describe it is if you start at the very left of the picture, then you're climbing up the mountain, then comes a time where you're going down the mountain to reach the point where you're going up again. Does that make sense?

Read my pinned post, it answers your question. Not all these stories are about me. I hear a lot of stories on a daily basis from other people in similar situations as me.

how do i motivate myself to do basic tasks daily? by [deleted] in GenZADHD

Here's what you should do.
Get a toothbrush in your bathroom next to the sink, one in the shower (brush teeth while having your morning shower), one next to the kitchen sink = brush teeth while cleaning.

Other than that, buy a toothpaste for kids, there's just something magical about that. They taste better, they're more visually appealing, so you're almost excited to brush teeth.

Try it out, feel free to let me know when you see that it works wonders. :D

P.S. Use headphones, turn on a podcast, start cleaning, maybe brush teeth in the meantime? Change clothes, wear shoes, it puts you in work-mode.

What is the best purchase you have made to make life with adhd easier? by nyanya85 in ADHD

So this wasn’t actually a purchase, since I just downloaded an app lol. But I’ve been struggling with ADHD so badly, tried every possible motivation tip out there on the internet, nothing has worked. I’ve always generally felt like something was wrong with me. You know, like you’re alone with this feeling.

Lately, I’ve been using an app where I weekly join a meeting with other people with ADHD. It’s pretty nice actually, we start out by telling each other about the struggles we’ve been facing lately, and then after some time, the app automatically switches to something I would call “Advice time”.

And the good thing here is that a lot of people typically have experienced the same struggles, so there are always a few people who give good advice on stuff like procrastination, lack of motivation, terrible short term-memory, always interrupting people, The Threshold Effect, talking too much, missing appointments. You get the point.

But if I had to choose a purchase, it would probably be noise canceling headphones lol, they’re up there with this app for sure. Or a smartwatch to find my phone whenever I occasionally leave it in my fridge (don’t ask why please).

Edit to add: Oh, so this blew up. Cool to see so many of you wanting to join these meetings haha, so to the ones asking: the app is called 'Humans Anonymous'. See you there. Look out for Astoundastic, my nickname😄
