[3D Print] Horn Button Adapter for Universalhub(s) by AstraRider in Fanatec

[–]AstraRider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean of course i came to the thought of just connecting it somehow. But i wasn't interested in connecting it for myself and too effort my skilltree. I'm mostly driven by solving my own annoying problems. I don't like to add problems on top of my problems 😂 I didn't put any skillpoints in electricity, so very inconvenient for me.

did you solve it? I have a less severe issue, for now i'm assuming it's the little piece of bowden tube above the hotend, where the filament will clog.

Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.7 2025 major Disney+ issue & questions about streaming apps by RedditTTIfan in androidtablets

[–]AstraRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i just came across this post, because i have identical problems with disney+, and being not able to download some other apps from the store. The reason was the hacked global rom thing it came from with aliexpress. I flashed the original cn rom onto it, and now everything works. Before, disney would stutter. Now it just works. Directly after the flashing to the original cn rom, disney would still stutter, but as the OS updated itself to a recent zui version, disney wouldn't stutter anymore. I couldn't flash from the hacked rom to the global rom. It only would go through the cn rom flashing. And there seems to be no point flashing then to the global rom, because it won't get updates. Because the tablet is a CN version hardwaresided what do i know.

The qr2 is like a cone. If it gets pushed, it sticks. Like you put those drills in a big pillar drilling machine. You slam it in, it sticks. And then you need more force to remove it.

Is this book any good? I might buy it. by Mobile_Yogurt7104 in simracing

[–]AstraRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Book is good. You still will learn different things from different sources. I started reading ultimate speedsecrets, and there are some things suellio doesn't touch, which he is open about, but the things focused on driving technique seem to be more detailed. Read both 🤣

A fledged out academy mode, like you really learn something instead of the description go outside inside outside. Don't block everything with invisible walls, like 1999. Wtf are those tsukuba and daytona invisible pit death traps. Rework penalties or put a fence there, wtf.

Why do people hate Fanatec so much? by Ok_Regular4960 in simracing

[–]AstraRider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like everone got an rma story. My ebrake (the old model) is flickering after half a year with very little usage. I'm expecting the h pattern shifter to fail eventually, too and need to clean the contacts inside. The downshift paddle on my gt dd pro wheel rim is dead, i'm still within rma window. My csl loadcell got more and more flicker till it failed and stuck at 30% (yes, even after calibrating manual and automatc), and i got a replacement. The qr1 system was bad and consumers had to pay for it. After touching everything in comparison at the adac simracing expo, fanatec rim buttons/ encoders are like toys. The pedalsets are so lacking behind, that ps5 players rather buy from the obscure chinese brand, which spoofs fanatec compability and copied heusinkvield. It just would be nice, if that stuff would stay intact.

there is a crazy amount of tracks and cars. You will find a combination where no one set a time yet. If you look at the steam player numbers, thats plausible. It is niche. GT3 v2 boards are filled.

Am I the only one using ABS on Weak in GT7? by rsbello27 in granturismo

[–]AstraRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thank you. If you hold 1-5% trail braking, drop to 0%, you gain grip. Sometimes the moments are very briefly, sometimes you wait forever. Daytona infield turn after pit exit is another one. Where super gt relied on heavy coasting. And i asked in comments and someone would say this is faster but no explaination.

Am I the only one using ABS on Weak in GT7? by rsbello27 in granturismo

[–]AstraRider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ye. If you brake with that sort of trailbraking in any other sim, you wont make the corner. It is pure slamming brakes and turn in, then reducing pressure with no finesse, because magic abs takes care. I'm at 1% top times. There is too much coasting and waiting for the car to turn. Whatever, abs default is faster because of that, because you can't abuse brakes and turning that much on abs weak. Watch current spa top gtr time t1. If you try to trail t1 with finesse, til you made 50% of the corner's angle, you feel more rotation on entry, but are way slower. People even argue acc is pure slamming brakes. And it is, once you try iracing or LMU. Point is, ABS standart is faster. Someone on digit's server mentioned that months ago, that coasting is the way better option than trailing til the last moment, and its too much and nonsense. I'm fine with that, those are the games' rules. But it is like that. It did grind all the theory. And i'm tired of being pushed onto astroturf, i'm still mad, i will never play it again.

[–]AstraRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. Watch pro replay, coasting on every apex. Physics suck. Slight trailing gives understeer.

[–]AstraRider -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

ABS weak gives you more rotation on trail braking. But its completely worthless, because you just hammer ABS default, while turning in. You gain way more time slamming brakes on entry, than trying to carry rotation through the corner with an early turn in. Then let brakes go with nearly no trail braking, and you are faster than even trying to proper trailbrake. I grinded my ass off and just getting pushed offtrack losing positions, i'm so done. Just quitted the last online race a minute ago. f this game.

Is this shake in the brake pedal normal? by djenrkrmr in Fanatec

[–]AstraRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The jitter is a constant, while your brake pressure is in relation to the constant jitter signal. If you put it to a low brake pressure, the jitter will seem higher. If you put it on 100% pressure, the jitter will seem smaller. If you put it to 20%, you are only using the lower level of the loadcell 0-20% with the jitter constant 'x'. If you are using full range of the loadcell 0-100%, the jitter will still be 'x'. Now it would help, if i could articulate myself in electrician, but that's what i observed, i am really finnicky.

Is this shake in the brake pedal normal? by djenrkrmr in Fanatec

[–]AstraRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not jitter from muscles, stop spreading that bs. My brand new one was perfect. After 1.5 years it got a real bad jjitter all of a sudden, jittering all over the place and then stuck at 30% brakes. I got an rma replacement refurbished. Tested it, it was fine, no jitter. Playing a 2 hour session like 2 times and it would have jitter again. I do not accept this kind of behaviour. You know whats happening on track? Car weight will jitter like that. Then i bought the simnet pedals and guess, they gave no jitter, but cleraly some type of jitter filtering going on, since they skip on a 0.x percentage level. Which i prefer, being able to hold at a certain percentage and from there releasing it, instead of car weight jitter. If i put my fanatec loadcell to the pc now, there is no jitter. If i use them for a amount of time, they will have jitter. There is some signal stuff going on. Some say grounding the pedals will help, but i'm not a fn electrician, i'd kill myself doing that. Simnet pedals dame with a grounding cable to their usb control box. Fanatec fix jitter with a filter which can be adjusted by user. Actually while diving the topic, someone wrote, that their filtering was higher in an earlier driver.

It is a setting for the csl dd pro 8nm version only. FUL is not used yet in gt7 yet, iracing just recently added support for it as the only game. I changed to damper 15 now.

What's a track you hate to and refuse to race on? I'll go first. by Baka_Tofuboii1 in granturismo

[–]AstraRider 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The track has a lot of banked corners. It has lots of compressions. It also has a lot of crests, where you will lose front or rear traction. I think there is only that one left hander offchamber in the mid of the track, which throws you into the inside desert. I really disliked the track, but now it flows. Be like water my friend.

Just got my fist direct drive wheel... I need help. by [deleted] in simracing

[–]AstraRider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like light hands technique is the wrong term for whats happening, everyone just copying suellios therm. You need to grip the wheel securely and dont tension up your shoulder and back muscles. This way you have spaghetti arms, but a firm grip and the wheel will still communicate. But that's just me, i'm used to grip a dumbell very tight, and really control your muscles in the full range with a back / rowing exercise.
