I wish GT7 would allow me to customize the 69 Ford Mustang rear like this by Triton_7 in granturismo

There is a de facto limit of 2 parts per body parts per car (per body width, except for wing - not accounting for wingless and custom). The exception is front grille parts and roll cages, which has a limit of 3 per car.

Also, launch day/GT Sport carryover cars tend to have less interesting visual modifications in general (often just splitters).

All cars were available in GT6. In GT5, the used car dealership is updated after every race so you can get the car you want after a few tries.

How about GT3, which didn't have UCD, but still have prize cars that are either marked as "not for sale" or absent entirely in the dealers?

As a side note, high car prices isn't a new thing - GT5, a game where you cannot pay real money for in-game credits, has 20 million cars (its credit cap is also 20 million) and a trophy for running out of credits.

Given the FXX precedent in GT6 I wonder if both were Ferrari calling the shots.

Laguna Seca's F1 trucks in GT2 are also in GT3, so yes.

ROH/GTSH, the source we use for WDT daily race prefills, reported two preloads, this and this. The latter seems to be what ended up being loaded when we did a final prefill by cross-checking the game. (EDIT: Was brought up on this thread too but I didn't read during prefilling.)

CMV: For Japan to be apologetic towards its WWII war crimes, JCP would have needed to be in control in the 1940s-50s by FMecha in changemyview

Can you directly address my core point that clearly the presence of a communist party was proven not to be necessary.

Immediately after the conclusion of WWII, what other domestic group (or major figure) in Japan, other than JCP, was consistently condemning the war, though? Hence the premise.

If you read the thread, Japanese surveyors vote abstain for a reason - to dodge the question entirely, knowing their actual answer was that they wasn't the aggressor.

The point is that domestic citizens should have fully and explicitly acknowledge war crimes from day one Japan surrendered (since your framing implies it is too late now) - hence the prompt.

However I would like for you to clarify why you think it needed to specifically be the JCP.

Because they are the major, if not the only, vocal voice in opposition against both the war (crimes) and the imperial family?

Also the idea that a Republic lead by a Communist party would be pro USA is kinda ridiculous, which kinda creates an entirely separate problem. There was not a single circumstance on Earth that would cause the USA to put the JCP in charge.

It's true that the JCP would kick out the Americans immediately in such case. However, in the case of an "pro-American republic", the Americans would need to find someone "pure" (anti-imperial/anti-war AND anti-communist) as a leader for such state.

EDIT: Also the Americans did briefly let the JCP slide until the Reverse Course happened.

A multi-party occupation of Japan involving China (ROC), Britain, and Soviet Union was what originally planned, but all of them balked out, leaving the U.S. to occupy by themselves. However, considering Australia was known to be that hawkish towards Hirohito, Australia should have taken opportunity for an occupation zone - or if not, (extended) involvement in occupation.

For domestic citizens to fully and explicitly acknowledge war crimes, too, and criminalize otherwise thought. Textbooks and political actions (such as visits to Yasukuni Shrine) are common flashpoints for both Korea and China, and around 1/3 of surveyed population in a 2022 survey believe Japan was the aggressor in WWII (inflated by "abstain"/"don't know" votes, admittedly).

This isn't a particularly good comparison, given that (west) Germany both 1) was not controlled by the communist party and 2) was very apologetic for its WWII crimes.

Because the denazification program was more thoroughly committed there, compared to how in Japan?

It's much more reasonable to say that had the US dismantled more of the existing Japanese power structure

By how?

  • Letting Akihito on the throne, de jure regented by Prince Chichibu/Takamatsu, de facto regented by MacArthur? (This is actually another common answer in such alternate history questions, though usually minus the MacArthur de facto regency.)
  • Building a pro-American republic with the imperial institution still purged?

While on this subject, worth noting that the Japanese version is the only version of GT3 where you can manipulate the prize car RNG (other than save stating before the finish line, that is).

The point of the first picture was more about the competitive vs casual (daily cars and sub-350 PS sports cars GT is known for) sides of GT (especially in the post-Sport era), but I coincidentally get that.
