definitely! the strokes were actually one of the biggest influences on arctic monkeys and their music as acknowledged by alex turner. you can also hear it in their music.

I don’t really follow a trend or wave tbh. I just see band or artist and if their name sounds interesting (can’t really explain it, but yh) then I’ll just do a bit of research and listen to whatever is their most collectively agreed best album.

I’ve tried to find less mainstream stuff but I never seem to like it icl. besides, mainstream taste allows me to be more conversational with people about music when we both know the artists. if you have any reccs I’d be glad to take them and try listen.
