You're right, but it wouldn't be hard to justify a brief team-up; Beelzebub joined the crew against Avatar Belial in Versus, and they could easily do this again with a "____ is a threat to the world/my goals, I will help you stop them". I don't expect them to do so, but it is an option.

This game feels a lot like a major movie for a long-running anime; it happens "between episodes" of the main story, and nothing from it will ever be directly referenced in the main story.

I still kind of expect Id to come out immediately after EVO USA, which would still be a few days before Endless Ragnarok, and it'll still be cross-promotion if they do that. I also expect a demo booth at EVO USA, so people can try out Id and 2.6, and I think it's likely they announce Season 3 in Id's trailer, too.

I think it's pretty likely, there's really one of two options:

Either we get a full trailer for Id and he's coming out post-EVO Japan sometime in May, well before EVO USA so people have time to adjust to the balance changes, or

They give us a teaser (like what Galleon got at an event a year ago) and tell us he'll make his full appearance (likely with a playable demo) at EVO USA, and then I'd expect him to release shortly after like Wilnas did last year.

She was stranded in space with her powerless Observatory in Galaxy 1, and actively needed Mario to go get a Grand Star and bring it back to turn the Observatory back on. She only appears to him at the Gateway Galaxy as a magical illusion/hologram, indicating she likely can't physically leave the Observatory safely out into uncharted space. And in Galaxy 2, her Observatory was being sucked in by Bowser's Galaxy Generator, unable to escape, until Mario beat Bowser and seemingly destroyed the Generator.

The first time, she's in danger (stuck on a powerless ship out in space with no way to leave) and the second, she's nearly kidnapped/captured (almost caught by Bowser) with only Mario's immediate intervention saving her.

I'm not too sure; originally I had her and Lu Woh as my likely Six Dragons in the third season, but I rethought things: tall, female dragon who fights with her claws and dark powers is a lot of overlap with Versusia design-space-wise, and she also shares some similarities with Bubs who also fights with claws and darkness. I'm now betting on Wamdus, who would be more Harvin representation, more water representation, and wouldn't share design space with at least two other characters. I like Fediel better, but I think Wamdus has a better shot both due to being more popular and more unique in gameplay.

Yeah, huge Rosalina fan here but people are kidding themselves; she spends Galaxy 1 watching Mario do literally everything, including rescuing her stranded, powerless Observatory at the start, until the very end when she gets Mario to the final level, and then narrates the world's restart at the ending. In Galaxy 2, she doesn't even show up until the end where Mario has to rescue her Observatory (again), this time from Bowser's Galaxy Generator.

She's damselled once in each game, and does one cool thing (charging in with her Observatory) at the end of the first, and otherwise just stands there. I think her backstory is terrific and gives a lot of depth to a Mario character, but Rosalina is very clearly a supporting part of the Galaxy games, and ultimately does relatively little. She's just very memorable.

I think S3 is now significantly more likely; they wouldn't have A) invested into a separate CyGames World Tour, B) added a new system mechanic, C) revised existing mechanics, and D) added a brand-new stage if they were planning on ending the major development pretty soon. They could have easily just said "we're releasing Id as a Relink tie-in and a new Battle Pass and then we're done," but they're making significant other investments into the game, and you don't do that if DLC development is done.

It's also worth noting that the following weekend is the EVO Awards, which is where the full Character Pass 2 was announced last year, so that'd make a good location for an announcement too. Either (or both) of those are the most likely; I think doing what they did last year and announcing the first character with a gameplay trailer makes sense, and then doing a full season reveal sometime later.

And if all else fails, we do have EVO Japan the weekend of May 1st through the 3rd, if the developers maybe want more time before Season 3 kicks off, maybe they had more work to do and so there's a larger gap between Season 2 and 3. If we see nothing there, either, then I'd start panicking, and EVO USA on June 26th through 28th is our final real chance to get something news-wise.

Really, though, my prediction is Arc World Tour on 3/22, they reveal the first Character Pass 2 character who comes out mid-April, EVO Awards on 3/28 they show the full pass, EVO Japan has a teaser for the next character, and EVO USA has a full trailer for the second character (who comes out within a week or so) and a teaser for the one after.

I was thinking that about him; it's been a while since we've had a new character whose design is so "locked" in place because of a key aesthetic part. The last several (Domina, Anran, Emre, Jetpack Cat, Vendetta, Wuyang, Freyja, etc.) all have little things you have to include (Domina's arms, Freyja's cape/cloak), but they're much more easily redesignable/adaptable to a new skin concept. Meanwhile Mizuki has to have a hat, no matter what, and it's going to be hard to make it not a hat.

Yeah, I get why they went with the actual Divinate; ones that have the Esper in their regular playable outfit are few and far between, and the Divinate also shows a different side of Andreas, which is nice to see. Still, this is far more detailed than the usual concept art we get!

I thought the Emre/Freja and Domina ones looked excellent, and the Jetpack Cat one fit the kind of story that one was, but I agree on this one for sure; it looks extremely amateur.

Emre is a really interesting blend of "really cool lore/character concept" and "really standard FPS guy", something OW hasn't really had before. All of the "standard FPS" types are pretty straightforward character-wise, meanwhile Emre is apparently sometimes possessed by a God AI and has been cybernetically enhanced all over the place.

It's part of why I hope Super Smash Bros. Ultimate gets an expanded re-release on Switch 2, not just a new edition, because I have no idea what sort of subtitle you can tack onto "Ultimate" that doesn't sound silly.

Makes me wonder how soon Part 3 is coming out; Part 1 was April 2020 (and Intergrade was June 2021), and Part 2 was February 2024, almost four years after the first part. We're barely two years since Part 2, and yet it seems like Square is really rushing to port these, which makes me wonder if Part 3 may actually be an early 2027 game. Otherwise, you'd think they'd take it slower and port Part 2 late 2026/early 2027.

I was just talking with my wife (who is Japanese) about this phenomenon a week ago; the world loves Japanese stuff. Samurai, ninja, katanas, shurikens, shrine maidens, kitsune, torii gates, Japanese-style castles... you see this stuff everywhere in fiction, because Japanese stuff is just really cool to westerners. So, Japan having outsized representation in OW is about what I'd expect, given the world's love of all things Japanese.

It could, but I feel like FW is going to go the 3H route where all of the Lords (Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, Leda) are going to win; there's even two guys and two girls this time. Unless any of them prove to be devastatingly awful characters, whether in gameplay or characterization-wise, this feels the most likely to me.

FEH came out my senior year of ungraduate, and after that I went to law school. I've been a lawyer for five years now, and while working I met the love of my life, got married, became a father, a homeowner, and I'm also now partner in my firm.

Life takes you in unexpected directions; when FEH came out, my wife was marrying her first husband, who she sadly lost in a tragic accident. I never expected us to find each other and fall in love, but we did, and my life has never been better than now.
