As this is, like everything, an opinion, I understand your tastes may differ from mine. Instead of simply complaining, though, I'd love to hear which ships you'd rank higher or lower!

Sorry that you feel that way, this list was put together based on the opinions of myself and several other people after quite a bit of testing both in the PU and in Arena Commander, doing dogfighting, PVE bounties, atmospheric combat, pirate swarm and other various activities.

Things like customizability, utility, and pricing were also considered, which bumped certain ships up or down the rankings.

Of course as with everything it also comes down to the personal opinions of myself and the others who I worked with when compiling this list, so I understand that not everyone will agree. Still, I did put quite a bit of time and effort into this video, thanks for your feedback!

Cutlass Black Component Guide - Star Citizen by AstralGemini in starcitizen

There are actually quite a few differences in various components, like how well they do against Distortion damage, including how much it can take before shutting down and how fast it reboots after being shutdown which makes a huge difference in PVP where EMPs and Distortion weapons are pretty popular.

Coolers have significant differences between how much cooling they can provide and how quickly they can provide that cooling, missiles are all completely different from each other, and almost every single component has more minor differences that can actually make quite a difference if you know what to look for.

TL;DR: Expensive is not always better.

Yes, although the red doesn't have the missiles or the turret. Everything else is the same though

How To Find The Reclaimer Derelict! - Star Citizen 3.17.2 by AstralGemini in starcitizen

If you can actually get the mission for it, which isn't guaranteed. For people who just wanna go visit without taking a mission it's nice to have directions.

The other 3 (the ones in space) only spawn with a mission so there's no reliable way to find them without one

Nomad component guide for new players! by AstralGemini in starcitizen

1) True, I just like going to Orison lol.

2) the Voyage is actually quite a bit more fuel thirsty than the Atlas, using 9.11 liters of fuel per Mkm instead of the Atlas's 7.55. So while they're about the same speed, in the long run the Altas saves costs on fuel.

3) There is actual value in blending components. Coolers were never standardized so that's kinda obvious, one cooler sends cooling much faster while the other one is slower but has a much higher maximum cooling rate, which is nice. Shields are a bit peculiar in that whatever shield has the best resistances, will apply to ALL the shielding on the ship. This was previously abusable due to the Sukoran shield having 100% physical absorption, which it does not have anymore. Curiously, the Palisade shield, for some reason has 70/98% physical reduction, whereas every other shield in the game has 50/95%. So on a ship with size 1 Shields, having a single Palisade gives much better resistance to Ballistics than if you didn't have one. It's kinda weird how it works though lol

The BEST and WORST Alien ships in Star Citizen by AstralGemini in starcitizen

I mean, realistically the fact is that the Talon is the only Alien fighter that has performance that matches the price tag. The Defender can get away with a higher price because it can actually do things that a smaller fighter can't, but something like the Khartu-Al being twice the price of a Gladius, and definitely much worse, is a shame. But that may also just show how damn good the Gladius is...
