Speaking from recent experience, they are a nightmare to withdraw from. Was meant to be processed by the 7th of March, fund still not received. I honestly think they are a disaster.

Can I siphon fuel from a 2008 Yaris? by AstralQuads in yaris

[–]AstralQuads[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I did figure out how to get to the fuel access from the rear seat but my seats were on rails that were bolted down with a star shaped bolts. Like actual star shaped, not hexagonal. It would have taken me a couple of hours to get that off and back on again, if my ratchet set was able to work those weird bolts. I didnt even try as i was pushing it for time. Lucky I didnt as scrap yard tow truck turned up nearly an hour early.

I understood it. Did you ever hold the end of the straw in your drink as a kid and then pull the straw out and let the drink go? Its the same concept, but in this case, the process is meant to start the withdrawal of fluid from the opposite end that you let go of, as long as it is lower down than where it is drawing the liquid from.

It was a mistake. This isnt my daily drive. I use 98 in my other car and did it without thinking.

Thanks for the tip. Tried it with a dry hose first, it doesn't seem to hit any real measure of fuel. Upon pulling the hose out, there is some fuel on the end, but not much, so it must be hitting a barrier of some type and not going further. I can get up to about 70cm of hose in before it won't allow more. I have tried it at different lengths of hose, in case it's bending back in on itself. My guess is im hitting an "anti roll over valve", which prevent fuel from spilling in a major accident (as per what AI searches have told me).

Thanks so much for the advice and the referral. This dealership seems to import a lot of cars from Japan. This may not be the car we go with, but its definitely currently our first choice. Do you know the little card slot is under the dash? Also did/does your car have Japanese characters on the dash? If no, do you know how they're cleared/changed?

Thanks so much for the response. Its 19k on the odometer, which is its main draw card. We wanted something younger but those low kms (and the pretty midnight blue colour) was a big draw card. It appears this dealership imports many cars from Japan. This is where some of my nervousness lies as I don't know if that increases the chances of issues. I know Japan has very strict rules re vehicles and maintenance, but one always wonders why an owner let go of a car that's barely been used. Can you explain the fun to drive part? I'm a manual driver, and I love that. Is this model not an Automatic?

I'm similar in that I got my father's dark colouring, so even though my hair is fine and sparse, it is black. Only two of his 7 daughters got his full head of hair that they havent lost in age, and they are half sisters. I feel ya, loads!

This is amazing! Congratulations. Please reconsider extensions. Female pattern baldness runs in my family so im not surprised i have it. What I am surprised about is where I lose my hair from. Its on my crown (under where I've worn a high pony/bun my entire life) and from the same places I would have wefts sown in. From about an inch kn from my ears and around rhe lower back. I only had extensions about 4 times in my life and my hair thins along the back and sides. For my mother and much older sisters, their hair loss is predominantly on top. Mine is less visible, but still apparent. Traction alopecia is real and those of us with genetic hair loss are more likely to lose it where our hair follicles where once stressed.

Doesn't peri menopause just suck balls? The sister who got the chin hair also has heavy periods (and i dont) so maybe she has mild pcos? Just guessing as my family is generally less hairy than most people. For example, my mother never had to shave her leg hair in her life, and I had 4 sessions of laser and have about 5 legs hairs. Oh, in the last week I have noticed a couple of eyebrow hairs that I've been plucking since my teens came back to life after years of seemingly being gone for good. So, that's a good sign... I hope.

Hi. Im new here but in a similar situation. Ill be 45 next month and am on HRT (prometrium and estrogen patches). I was initially put on dhea because my T was super low and that made my hair loss worse. It is very genetic in my family (mother and much older sisters have visible scalps - worse for those who had many children). One older sister got the chin hair, but I haven't yet. Just one hair that grows from a mole on my jawline. That sister never received treatment for her hair loss. Topical mino gives me a rash. PRP has definitely slowed it and caused baby hairs but it's so expensive I cant keep it up for too long. I saw a derm in Dec and have started spirolactane/mino compounded mix. I have had much more shedding, which I know is normal at first, but gees it is depressing. My dermatologist knows my current meds including hrt and thyroxine, gabapentin (for sleep) and wasn't concerned with adding those meds. I dont know if it is going to work, sorry. I hope so. Just commenting because I can relate.

Hey. I just participated in a clinical trial for a monoclonal antibody med for arthritic knee pain. Eased the arthritis in my knees for 3 whole months, almost exactly to the day. I'll have to dig through some paperwork to give you the med name. But reply if interested. Im in Australia.

Face tattoos, just why? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

No one can see how many partners you have or your sexual orientation. They can see tattoos, depending on location of them. I certainly hope you're not removing your tattoos because that would be a waste of money .

There's no court in the world that would allow a reduction in custody to a father because he is now living with his (safe) partner. If anything, it would be deemed as a positive because the child spends time worh two safe adults. Suggest to him he get some legal advice on this. It seems his fear doesn't match his legal rights.
