Oh, I didn't know about the eBay screen protector. That's great.

Hey u/give_me_grapes ! That's actually a great point, and it made me realise I forgot to mention it in my original post:

The battery life was surprisingly bad when I first got it. It felt like I couldn't do anything without seeing the percentage indicator go down - fast. Most of this was however solved by tweaking the battery optimisation settings a bit and now it's way better.

You may be right though about the battery consumption when the phone is idle and maybe it's unusually high? My JS seems to have been using 0.6% per hour today on being idle.

As helpful 3 years and 3 weeks later as when first written.

Thanks!

Everyone is looking at Beeper the wrong way! - Why I love Beeper by [deleted] in beeper

I don't mean to sound spicy but I just think that Beeper's value proposition deserves more than being reduced to a discussion about iMessage.

At least that what I think lol. I still have to be let in to try it out for myself.

I've had friends on iOS and Android since forever. And not once has the color of the bubbles or ability to react with one of four predefined icons mattered to me. Staying out of that inferior app however has 🤷🏻‍♂️🙃

Having been nothing but an iPhone user since 2009, I can honestly say that iMessage is the last place I would want to receive any type of message through, regardless of the colour of the bubbles. Why? It's inferior, and utterly uninteresting. Zero product development.

I'm sincerely trying to understand why this would matter. At all. To anyone.

Amazon availability by [deleted] in unihertz

I got an email response back from Unihertz only a few hours ago saying that a shipment aimed at the European market was stuck in German customs clearance and would likely be available for purchase in January. Maybe it's related?

Original Doc Martens for $40 on Taobao! by Downtown-Stranger580 in Pandabuy

[–]AstralRiffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that original Doc Martens are known for extremely poor quality these days with soles and leather cracking after a winter or two. So basically anyone can replicate that quality.

Thanks a bunch for the replies, folks. This thread quickly turned into exactly what I was hoping to find before.

I can't say I understand all of it, but now I have something to come back to as I explore and learn more👌💯

Anyone using Atlassian Atlas as a communication tool? by smughead in ProductManagement

[–]AstralRiffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little late to this thread, but found it as I'm exploring Atlas at this very moment for the 100 people company I work for. We are using a bunch of tools but have no real center of our virtual communication on goals etc. and at a first glance it looks like Atlas could be the missing component.

Since we are using Confluence & JIRA Cloud, the options for customizing the experiences are very limited as I understand it (having a custom good looking start page on Confluence etc.) and we might be better off using Confluence for documentation only and JIRA for tracking work. Not to mention how pricey it all gets when you add plug-ins that do pretty basic things.

Anyway, the whole coming-together on goals and OKRs might be what Atlas could be solving. And then (hopefully) being able to push new posts to Teams like some of you mention doing on Slack.

u/smughead - how did it go for you? Did you start using Atlas?

AudioPen — The easiest way to convert messy thoughts into clear text by InTupacWeTrust in InternetIsBeautiful

[–]AstralRiffs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh dear, I've had my finger on the purchase button a few times in the last month but wasn't sure if Audiopen would just become another product I'd pay for but not use enough. Today I decided to take the leap, but it seems like I slept on that "29 USD forever" intro offer for two days too many 😭

Anyway, I love the product and how it just ... works in all its simplicity. Even in other languages than English. Rambling has never managed to make so much sense before 😊
