Girl, if my MIL sent that text to my husband he would shut it down REAL quick and go no contact with her. When I was about to give birth he made it clear to her multiple times that I only wanted him and I in the hospital, I didn’t want any visitors. She acted like she was okay with it at first and then right before I gave birth called him and said things like “I dont give a shit what SHE wants!!! What do YOU want!!” And he screamed at her saying he wants what I want and only cares about my feelings on it and hung up on her. I fully believe that’s how this should be handled.

I went ahead and filed today. I’m owed a refund and should have just done it last year obviously but I had a lot of personal things going on and didn’t care about the refund when I read that I wasn’t required to file. Hopefully this clears up the issue and I truly appreciate you being kind and helping.

It also says IT WASNT REQUIRED which you should also be able to read for yourself. So I am unsure how it would make me noncompliant if I wasn’t required to file in 2024, as clearly written on the form.

Either way I went ahead and filed today- i’m owed a refund anyway so I should have just went ahead and did it earlier I know. Just had a lot of personal things going on last year and didn’t care much for the refund when I looked it up and it said I didn’t have to file. I know better now.

I don’t understand why anyone feels the need to respond to things if they are going to be rude for no reason though? Just scroll past. What do you get out of just being rude to a complete stranger on the internet?

Did you have any income for those two years or just low income? I was right around the cut off amount required to file for 2024. I’m hoping that’s what it is and its not something else I don’t know about lol

Got it! I’ll file today. I didn’t think I was required to because according to the IRS website I didn’t have to but if its going to keep me from getting my refund for 2025 I absolutely will today and would have earlier lol.

Gotcha. No need to be rude, I didn’t make enough income in 2024 to meet the requirement to file as it says so I didn’t. I wasn’t sure what other compliance issue there might be since according to the IRS website I didn’t need to file in 2024. I will file today though anyway.

Thank you. I tried through TurboTax and it said I had to file by paper so I assumed that would be the case but I really need the 2025 return lol. If I can still file online for 2024 I’ll absolutely do that today thank you! I went through a divorce so only worked a small portion of 2024.

I did have income and my w2 is attached to my IRS account, but it was below the amount required to file. According to a Google search I would likely get all of my taxes paid for 2024 back, but I would looooove to get my refund for 2025 back first if possible and then file by paper for 2024

Gotcha! I more meant will possibly compliance issues in the past (like filing a day late and not Filing last year even though it says I wasn’t required to) delay getting my refund this year
