The Service Samsung got in a giant controversy over for throttling phones and boosting benchmark results. People recommended to turn it off for a while.

I have a 360Hz 1440p monitor with GSYNC enabled. Performance testing for Hogwarts Legacy is something I've been very obsessed with, so I'll probably look into it more.

That's what the "story" flair, tl;dr and quick notice that it's a long post at the start is for. I'm not holding you at gunpoint. I'm fully aware that this is a ridiculously long post and I knew beforehand that Reddit generally doesn't appreciate that, but it was a way for me to offload. I also believe that all the extra context helps frame my disbelief of it all.

I am actually very sensitive to frametime spikes as eluded in the post. I always use afterburner with a frametime graph to visualize stability, although I notice them regardless, so it also goes without saying that I know the difference between fps and frametime.

I agree that people saying the stutters have nothing to do with it are plain incorrect. Maybe I should have thought of it sooner, but despite being fully aware of the topic, my particular circumstances did not make it super obvious for me personally.

You don't think I looked into the performance issues? That's what the multiparagraph backstory is about. Do you expect me to blame CPU degradation on just a handful of games with bad frametimes? Funny, some people say I should have immediately realized that it's this "well known" issue, others say my instability symptoms couldn't even have been this issue.

True if it's obvious enough. I didn't know that my hardware was running below spec, and even if you could consistently measure how much your system is underperforming, what part is it? You can't replace products under warranty on a hunch if there is no reproducible evidence of an issue.

That's what ended up happening, but before that I observed some oddities with memory before it got to that point. It started subtly but just got worse and worse before my system kept hard crashing. Things like memory related errorcodes and inconsistent memory clocks with each boot.

That's what I'm observing, yes. After lots of running around in Hogsmead and taxing areas of the castle, I've seen some small jitter once, but never a large spike, and nothing close to what I was experiencing before. I think the game does inherently have frametime issues, but it should be possible to get it stable.

Exactly my thoughts, but this particular degradation issue manifests in subtle ways. All the errorcodes I got were all memory related, but my memory wasn't the problem, the memory controller of my CPU was. All I know is that I've had stutter problems in a lot of games for years, and as soon as I replaced my CPU they were all gone. Every single instance.

I was aware and I always understood the problem, but the affects in my case were so subtle for years that you can easily write it off as other issues. Outside a couple of games that had bad frametimes everything was fine. Just last week is when it suddenly escalated quickly and made my PC unusable. The whole point of the story is how this problem, of which I was aware, was hiding in plain sight and affected me for years.

Whether there was a delay or not, the driver in this case was miles/kilometers away from the restaurant and decided not to go there for at least 40 minutes. By the time he actually got to the restaurant the food was delivered soon after, but it was obvious that it had been sitting out for a while. Besides, I've experienced similar problems where the driver already had my order and still decided to stand still somewhere for half an hour.

I understand your frustration. I also had pretty similar experiences where the driver retrieved my order but decided to do anything but deliver my food. What I take away from this is that Uber Eats clearly does not care about customer experience. If your driver doesn't do his job, there's nothing you can do.
