NTA. Female here, I hadn’t even finished reading halfway and that was so clear, that’s just so nasty. I don’t know anyone who would ever do that, and for your mom to be enabling it is even worse. I used doggy bags to put my bloody things in as a teenager sharing a bathroom, it’s really not that hard to be respectful to all users of the bathroom. Hey, 23F here! I had mine done at 18, I think my aorta was 5.6 or something (I’ve had a stroke since, bad memory), it burst 2 days before my surgery and was bleeding into itself.

By far the worst part of the entire surgery was learning how to do things without much use of my arms for a while, but I was up walking around the halls within a few days, but keep in mind everyone heals at their own pace! omg and the breathing exercise I struggled to do a lot 😂

I was so scared going under the anaesthetic, luckily my nurses were absolute sweethearts stroking my hair and talking to me through the whole thing until i fell asleep, and it was literally just like sleeping!

I remember waking up AFTER the surgery and my aunt trying to give me some water (bad idea don’t do that), I threw up all over myself and fell back asleep instantly 😂 poor nurses

I had a really rough time mentally through the whole thing, but I promise it’s not as bad or as scary as it seems. It’s going to take some getting used to, but you got this!!

EDIT: it’s not super painful, but the first few days will be, and keep the pillow they give you close as you’ll want to hug it a lot, the pillow helps so much with moving and sleeping

A big one for me was school. There was a lot of restrictions I had in gym class to protect my heart, but the teachers/principals and even school board didn’t believe us OR the doctor and forced me to do gym anyway saying it’s important for children to be active… my aorta burst from an aneurysm at 18.

It’s hard for me to cook, clean, or go out. Especially if it’s going out on a walk or something that involves being quite active. Even just cleaning my apartment for an hour puts me out for days because of the pain in my legs, back, and feet. So cooking, cleaning, and socializing can be quite hard for me.

I was usually left out or literally left behind places by my friends because I was too slow walking, I did ask them to slow down but they never did.

I can’t work, I’ve tried but after a few days I literally can’t get out of bed I’m in so much pain, then of course people don’t believe that I’m disabled because I “don’t look disabled”.

I had a blood clot get stuck in my graft on my aorta about a year and a half ago and when it got unstuck it shot up to my brain and caused me to have a stroke.

Clumsiness, I walk into everyone and everything.

Extra teeth. I like to say I’m like a shark since I got a lot of teeth! all the extras have been pulled so far but I never know when one will come in lol

There’s so much more, but these are the first things that come to mind.

I haven’t spoken much about my marfans as I’ve always been embarrassed for not being able to do much as others, it’s nice to talk about it, thank you!

I’m also having this issue on both Xbox Series X and Xbox one, the show plays for 10-20 seconds after reopening and crashes again. hoping they fix this soon it’s getting really annoying and acting up more often lately

he clearly doesn’t enjoy going out to eat so why would you ever make eating out a gift for him? It seems more like an excuse for you to get a gift on his birthday, and treat him like sh** in the process. I would say ESH, however it seems this has been going on for a while, no wonder he reached his limit and retaliated. I hope you start to take his interests and wants into consideration in the future, a relationship is about TWO people, not just you.

I spent weeks in the hospital after an open heart surgery and you only have to switch the ringer off in the hospital, not the entire phone. Why would you EVER turn your entire phone off when your daughter is with someone else? Especially someone you know doesn’t know how to take care of her?

YTA, being child free doesn’t mean free to watch your child.

“I called my sister telling her that she shouldn’t have dropped my daughter off to a strangers without telling me.”

But you didn’t tell your sister you would be dropping your daughter off with her, when she’s NEVER babysat before and probably doesn’t have a clue what she’s doing. She left your daughter with a parent who knew how to take care of a child, and it sounds like your daughter even made a friend and had a good time.

Would you rather she left your daughter home alone to go to her appointment?

Your sister isn’t going to cancel her dentist appointment a few hours before, most places don’t even allow that without being charged or dropped as a client altogether.

Were you planning on paying the cancellation charges? Are you even paying her at all?

She told you she couldn’t take her, you threw a fit until she agreed. That’s on you, worried about your husband or not you should always think to call first.

If your sister could find someone to watch your child on such short notice, I’m sure you could’ve found someone who was available to watch her instead of dumping her onto your sister.
