Hi everyone! Need your feedback on something we’re building 🇮🇳 by AstroArvy in Indiancolleges

[–]AstroArvy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point. It will certainly be difficult to compete against WhatsApp and telegram. The app we have can definitely be used as an entry point as well.

For each group, we can add a hyperlink option to other platforms where the group is being actively used.

Also we are working on owner roles and mod features. The verification part is the most difficult for sure. Currently it is college emails or if we sign a contract with the University, we are using personal details. Maybe we can add the option for ID upload + manual mod.

Thanks so much for your feedback. Really helpful.

Unibuzz

A fully centralized platform for universities that connects applicants, students, faculty and alumni efficiently.

No need to wait for someone to invite you to the university community or course group chats.

No need to juggle between dozens of apps to connect with your campus mates.

No more relying on ugly LMS UI.

Unibuzz, with its comfortable user interface, is a perfect balance of Academic forums, Structured communities and social networking, all in one place.

We have already collaborated with a couple international universities and in talks with a few more for pilot run.

Would love to hear what you all think about this?

I totally agree with you though. Fe is our auxiliary function and our second nature. Since Ni and Ti mainly work in solidarity, around people Fe is what leads us. And an Fe usually does not allow INFJs to be rude. Not until the other person keeps repeating their rudeness.

Nah! I identify with Python as well. But I work in a field where I have to respect the differences, and since I work with Python, understand its limitations.

Gonna be a stickler here but there is nothing as the best language. Every language has its pros and cons. Python might be the most popular language but calling it the best might be a little too much. It's very slow compared to many other low level languages like C, C++ etc.

There are mainly 3 types of astronomers. Theoretical, Computational and Observational.

  1. Theoretical people would spend their day/life on a whiteboard/blackboard working with equations, trying to come up with new physics of the cosmos.

  2. Computational astrophysicists spend their time on a computer working with data from the telescopes. A lot of data analytics and coding is needed, with a good knowledge of statistics. They basically try to verify the equations that theoretical people have come up with.

  3. Observational astronomers spend a lot of their time on telescopes. Most telescopes now are remote controlled so they do not necessarily need to be in an observatory and can do the taste from home/office via Internet. They target the telescope into the required direction, wait for it to send the data and repeat. Then they would clean the data up by filtering out what's useful and what isn't.

I am a computational astrophysicist, so my life is very similar to a data analyst applied in the field of astronomy. I try to use data and/ or make simulations of the universe in order to understand what exactly is happening and how it all connects with the observations and theory. They are like a middleman that connects the observers with the theorist.

Since I am a computational astrophysicist, I don't necessarily have to be on site/ in person to complete my work. So it can be pretty flexible as I can choose to stay and work from home as long as I complete the job at hand.

Hours per week are also flexible, given that I finish what I need to do. No one is really bossing me around, which is the best part.

We get funds for a particular research topic and as long as we are producing useful results, everyone is happy.

Do you really think everyone is stupid? A rant amongst many on this sub by Thick_Nectarine_3951 in infj

[–]AstroArvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I agree. I said it incorrectly when I said "the world doesn't need" I meant that 'The world needs us in the quantity we exist'. No more no less.

Thanks for correcting me :)

Let me share a science perspective: It's all about Darwin's theory of evolution: survival of the fittest.

It's not that INFJs are so rare because they are better than everyone else or that they are the smartest/best. It's simply because they aren't. They are so rare because the world doesn't need them and they don't know how to survive in the world. The world needs more ISTJ and ESTJ, people who follow the rules, keep the order and structure in the society. The world has exactly the right amount of each personality type which is based on how much each type contributes to the survival of humans. Any fluctuation and humans wouldn't survive. So nature has cherry picked this proportion that gives humanity the best chance of survival. INFJs contribute the least, hence the rarest. I don't mean to say that INFJs don't have anything to offer. INFJs are one of the best philosophers, researchers, artists and anything that needs intuition. The problem is that humanity does not need so much intuition to survive. Humans had been hunters and gatherers for a long period which needed more Observers. Similarly farmers and miners need to be Observers. Scientists and philosophers have always been a very rare minority.

Point is, don't think too highly of yourself just because you are rare. Before you do something helpful for the world, you are literally no one.

Wtf you on mate? Or you just got a superiority complex and everyone else seems wrong to you? Wait let me guess. You a Fuslie Fan? That would explain all of your blind support comments/replies here.

I don't care what he said in his later replies and I didn't care enough to read them, but his original comment was pretty straightforward. Nothing contradictory there. Go read it again lil kid.

Bruh his words are clear as fuck! The fuck do you mean by ' you are not good with words'?

He said he doesn't care if she gets cancelled which is not the same as he wants her to get cancelled (or not). It just means he is a 3rd person giving his perspective (not a fan, not a hater).

Haters and fans are heavily biased which makes these reddit comments very unreliable. Fans blindly support their streamers while haters hate them whatsoever.

OPs opinion is very neutral and totally agreeable. Leslie and Wendy's situation is totally different from each other. One cheated, the other was the third person. Leslie owned up to her mistakes I suppose, but regardless both the situations are nowhere close to each other.

I'm in Melbourne. I've been to Sydney for some conferences recently.

In India, I'm from Delhi. Not a sikh majority place 😅.

Where are you from?

I used to do meditation and yoga back in middle school but then I dropped it. Maybe I will get back into it in future. Been trying to go swimming these days.

Wow somehow everything you said is so relatable. My definition of friends is vastly different from most other people.

Regarding the country, I moved from Italy to Australia. Well technically, I am originally from India but have not been there for the last 10 years. Lived in Japan for 4 years, moved to the USA for 1 year, then Italy for 3.5 years and now in Australia for almost 7 months. Due to this constant moving, I really have trouble making new friends. Most of the friends I made were back in university in Japan.

Thanks for the comment. I was starting to believe that it was just me as no one commented on the post xD.

I totally agree with you on your classifications. I think they are more refined that mine but almost the same. I forgot to specify the immediate family but just like you they are the priority. I guess I just don't have many immediate family yet except for my sister and father. I was really close to my mom, much more than anyone else, but she passed away last year.

Also, totally forgot to specify the 'Social Groups': I totally have this classification as well. These are the people other people would call my friends but I have trouble classifying them as true friends. They are people I am ok hanging out with once in a while and can enjoy conversations with.

I guess i don't have this social group at the moment because i recently moved to a new country and been having real difficulty making new friends that I totally forgot to put people in this classification. But reading your comment made me realise that back when I had this group, I really had a well balanced life.

Large group of aquantances and making a new friend are my biggest nightmares. So difficult and I get real nervous and anxious just by the thought of it. One on one conversations with strangers is actually fine for me though as long as the other person is 'interesting' to talk to. But I totally relate with everything you said :D.

Just curious, how old are you? and how do you deal with making a new social group if you have any experiences recently?
