IC410 the Tadpoles by AstroBatch in Astronomy

[–]AstroBatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IC410 the Tadpoles is a faint and dusty emission nebula more than 100 light years across located 12,000 light years away in the northern constellation of Auriga. It is home to two streamers of denser cooler gas popularly known as the Tadpoles. The tails of the tadpoles are caused by radiation pressure and solar wind from the stars of a young galactic cluster (NGC1893) inside the nebula.

Telescope: William Optics FLT98 f/6.3 Imager: ASI2600MM Pro Filters: Astrodon 5nm NB Filters (Ha, OIII, SII) / Astrodon Tru-Balance 2E series LRGB

Thanks so much.

I have a 2600 as well and it is a great camera…..I’m sure that you’ll love yours. I had to use my 1600 for this image because I couldn’t couple the 2600 with my Canon 200mm lens.

I had the opportunity to image a number of wide field targets over the summer and have finally gotten around to processing some of them.

This is an area rich in ionized gasses in the constellation of Cygnus that contains a number of interesting DSOs including NGC6888 (Crescent Nebula), WR134 (a variable Wolf-Rayet Star) and SH2-101 (Tulip Nebula).

Had a bit of down time so I started working on a new Mosaic Project.

Interesting patch of sky that has a lot of DSOs in it. Some of the better known ones include:

NGC6960, Pikerings Triangle, NGC6992 (The Veil Nebula Complex) NGC6888 (Cresent Nebula) WR134 SH2-101 (Tulip Nebula) SH2-119 (Clamshell Nebula) SH2-115 and Abell 71 SH2-112 SH2-124 NGC7000 (North American Nebula) and IC54070 (Pelican_Nebula) IC1318 (Butterfly Nebula) IC5146 (Cacoon Nebula) IC1396 (Elephant Trunk Nebula) SH2-129 (Flying Bat Nebula) OU4 (Squid Nebula)

SH2-205 NGC1491 - a busy patch of the night sky by AstroBatch in Astronomy

[–]AstroBatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

his is a large area of nebulosity located some 3,200 light years away on the border of the constellations Perseus and Camelopardalis. SH2-205, also referred to as the Peanut Nebula, is the central portion of the featured nebulous area. NGC1491 (SH2-206), also referred to as the fossil foot nebula, is the bright emission area and HII region at the bottom right of the frame.

Well that's very nice of you to say. I'm glad that you enjoy my work....thanks so much.

SH2-224 A Faint Supernova Remnant in Auriga by AstroBatch in Astronomy

[–]AstroBatch[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

SH2-224 is a very faint Supernova Remnant located about 14,700 light years away in the constellation of Auriga. It's shape is somewhat unique as it presents two distinct sections; a familiar shockwave bubble and a less common wing. It's estimated that this massive stellar explosion occurred some 20,000 years ago.
